Mood swings during periods are certainly some of the worst things that happen to us and also, to the people around us. For some girls, these mood swings are quite mild but for some, they can get as wild as the feeling to yell at everyone around them. Yeah, periods do that to us! But the sad part is, it’s really difficult to explain what mood swings are really like, especially to men, isn’t it? So we found a few women who shared on Quora about how to explain to a guy what mood swings during periods feel like and believe us, the answers might just make your relationship a lot happier!
Pegah Esmaili answers on Quora: Well at least for me it’s not like being happy one second and mad another second. It’s more like you get mad very easily and not just that, but you can’t really control yourself and suddenly you see that you are as mad as a grizzly bear without enough reasons for such actions.
And then you realize that you shouldn’t get that mad, so you’d be like a sad grizzly bear.
And then you just go and sit somewhere and think about the creation of Adam and Eve and how unfair is God to create such thing for women but nothing in return for men.
And then you want to kill all men because they don’t have periods.
And much more philosophic despairs out of nowhere comes to my mind.
Claire J. Vannette answers on Quora: I experience a minor increase in irritability and sadness one day out of 28. It's basically like I had a lousy day at work. Do you know what it's like to have a lousy day at work and then find yourself annoyed over things that wouldn't usually bug you? Then you know what most women experience right before their period.
Chara Molina answers on Quora: A big factor in these mood swings is the fact that whenever I'm in pain or uncomfortable I get very emotionally unstable. When I'm on my period I get awful cramps and that causes me to have a lot of mood swings.
Ava Chua answers on Quora: For me, I know I'm having a bad bout of PMS this particular month when I burst out crying for no reason at all. I'd think to myself, “Wow, why do I feel like crying?” and then tears start falling. It's rather like sweating. I don't feel too sad while I'm crying, but I can't control them.
When I'm experiencing PMS, I get physically sick too. So my mood would be like any other person who is sick - irritable, exhausted, maybe frustrated.
Pippi M. R. Groving answers on Quora: When I am on my period or ovulating, I only get more sensitive to emotions. If I see something that normally cause me to be sad, I just get more sad. And likewise I get more happy about other things.
