When someone asks me what my favourite thing to do in the world is, I always say, “I love to sleep.” I’m constantly thinking of going to sleep, how many hours I’ll get to sleep and if I can squeeze in a quick nap during the day. Basically, you get the kind of person I am, right? LAZY!
Now human sloths like me can rejoice because this Indian startup has just come up with an internship for people who love to sleep. All you have to do is fall asleep. Wait, what?
Sleep solutions startup Wakefit ( a company that creates sleep products) is currently looking for candidates to join their ‘sleep internship 2020 batch’. Yes, it’s actually a thing.
According to the job description, the skill set required for the job is that the person should be “fanatical” and have an innate ability to fall asleep even at the smallest given opportunity. Also, the best part is that the dress code for this pretty awesome job is pajamas. The job basically requires you to sleep every night for nine hours a day for 100 days and all of that with a stipend of Rs. 1 lakh.
In an interview with Business Insider, Chaitanya Ramalingegowda, the director of Wakefit.co said, “We are looking to recruit the best sleepers in the country who are willing to go to any lengths to make sleep a priority in their lives. The Sleep Internship initiative aims to bring back the focus on sleep health by celebrating and applauding people who obsess about sleeping well.”
The company will regulate and monitor the sleeping pattern of all the interns. They will also be given counseling sessions and sleep trackers. It will help the company monitor the sleep experiences of the candidates before and after using their mattresses.
Ramalingegowda added, “This initiative is another step towards making sleep an integral part of maintaining work-life balance in our lives.”

So basically, I’m all set to join this mindblowing job. It’s the dream, isn’t it?
