#FashionForecast: 7 Korean Fashion Trends That Are Gonna Be Big This Year!

With the rise of k-pop culture, we’ve also seen the influence of Korean fashion taking over the world by a storm. And with the increasing popularity of global superstars like BTS, Blackpink, Red Velvet, etc., it’s only going to get bigger.

Korean fashion is in a way loud but also subtle. It’s a concoction of everything soft and pastel and grunge and whatever else there is on the table, and that gives us all the more reason to love it! It’s something for everyone so, keeping that in mind, here’s a list of the Korean fashion trends that you should be looking out for this year ‘coz, as we speak, they are getting bigger and better.

Have A Ruff Day!

Ruffles have yet again found their way back into the world of fashion in the form of beautiful pieces which we’ve seen on the runway and on many celebs we follow. Love them or hate them, ruffles add the right kind of drama to any outfit while looking delicate and dainty. Whether you dress them down with trousers or jeans or go all-in looking like the cutest cupcake ever, there will be heads turning! It’s the one piece we’ll be seeing for a while on the pages of our favourite fashion magazines, so it only makes sense to get one for your summer wardrobe too.

Bucket Full Of Sass

From Irene Kim to members of Blackpink, I’ve actually lost count of the number of celebs I’ve spotted in these bad boys. Buckets hats look like tiny buckets with wide downward-sloping brims. They’re usually made of heavy-duty cotton fabric and with summer approaching, maybe you should consider getting one for yourself to amp up that wardrobe of yours! It is the fashion accessory of the season with variations in vinyl, imitation leather and print doing rounds on the runway.

Look Flushed With Blush Tones

Blush tones are all the rave this season. From lilac to banana yellow to faded orange, we’ve seen it on the streets, the runways and on our favourite celebrities alike. Take notes from these beauties on how you can elevate your wardrobe in a subtle yet trendy way. It’s soft and so ladylike and I know there’s a bunch of you out there who want to take a break from all your loud coloured outfits. If you’re one of them, we suggest you blush up your game.

Large & In Charge

For those who say bigger is better, they probably refer to oversized tees! Anything trendy and comfy and we’re digging through our bags for our credit cards. But how do these celebs manage to look so good in something three sizes bigger without looking like a complete hobo? You can opt for shorts or tights for a chic look, team it with baggy jeans for a casual look, or wear it as a dress and accessorise with sneakers or thigh-high boots (lampshading FTW!).

Time For Tea, Ladies!

If you’ve been paying attention to the recent trends, you must have seen a lot of dresses around with unstructured lines and silhouettes and light-looking fabrics. Obviously, we don’t question why because they ARE G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S! Tea dresses are super easy to style and flatter your body in all the right places. From high heels to chunky sneakers to boots, there’s nothing you can go wrong with. And that’s the tea! (geddit geddit?)

Flatform Sneakers FTW!

On days when you’re not feeling your heels or anything that exposes the feet and want that oomph factor footwear to complete your outfit, flatform sneakers are the way to go. We’ve seen them over the years and only learned to love them over time. It’s quite evident from how many of our favourite celebs opt for flatform sneakers to elevate their OOTD we well as their height. It’s sneakers but better!

Flower Power Maxima

Florals are always a yes for us and they’re in full bloom this season. Dreamy soft floral prints–what’s not to love about that? It’s nothing new in the fashion industry but the way these celebs are coming in hot with the flower power, it gives us all the more reason to go out there and invest in a few pieces more ourselves.
