Muscle Pain, Headache & Sore Throat: 6 New Symptoms Of COVID-19 You Should Know

The number of coronavirus cases have gone up to 30,06,113 across the globe and the virus has claimed 2,07,265 lives. In India alone, there are 20,835 active cases and the death toll has climbed up to 872. According to media reports, the tally of COVID-19 cases has crossed the 27,000 mark. As a result, paranoia around the pandemic is on the rise and the medical sector is doing all that’s possible to find a cure for the fatal virus. While that’s going to take a while, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, (CDC) the United States, the top public health body has made some new revelations about the virus.

The CDC has added six new symptoms, which it said could be signs of the COVID-19. The new symptoms include chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smell. Earlier, mild fever, cough, and shortness of breath were identified as symptoms of the deadly virus. According to the CDC, these symptoms may appear from two to 14 days after contracting the virus.

The crucial CDC study comes days after dermatologists in Europe and America identified another worrying new symptom that affects children and young adults. Doctors are calling it COVID-Toes and it is similar to a frost-bite where blood vessels in the toes get aggravated and the humans tend to get a serious spasm.

What Are The Emergency Warning Signs?

CDC has also released a new set of emergency warning signs such as troubled breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion or inability to arouse, bluish lips or face. These symptoms also require immediate medical attention. However, it is important to note that this list is not totally inclusive of all the signs being experienced by COVID-19 infected people.

Runny Nose & Sneezing Still Not A Symptom Of COVID-19?

While there’s now a long list of coronavirus symptoms, the health agency has clarified that a runny nose and sneezing is still not a symptom of the deadly disease.

However, CDC has also discovered that the disease is also spreading via people who are not showing symptoms. These are the asymptomatic carriers who carry the active virus in their body but never develop any symptoms. This is particularly true in the early stages of the virus.

We hope all of you are practicing social distancing. Staying indoors is the only way to protect yourself from contracting the virus in the first place. #StayHomeStaySafe
