A few years ago, I attended a cousin’s wedding and something embarrassing happened–not with me, but with my cousin. He was asked to sing! I’ll give it to him that despite being a terrible singer (hence the embarrassment), he handled the situation quite well and sang a romantic song for our bhabhi. Well, love sure can make even an amateur sound so melodious. So what happens if someone with an amazing voice sings for his bride? Well, this adorable video answers the question. Meet Shanay Shah, the groom who sang for his bride on their D-day. The result? Shanay’s video has been going viral on Instagram for a few days now.
Shanay is quite a talented singer! But the romantic Bollywood medley he sang on his wedding will always be one of his best performances ever. And his bride Suneri had absolutely no clue about the performance. Check out the video here:
Shanay is a live performer and has several music videos on his Instagram handle as well. But in his own words, he was, understandably, the most nervous to sing on his own wedding. Here’s what he wrote in the caption, “Surprise song for @suneri.shah (Our Wedding Day). The most nervous I’ve EVER been for a performance on stage was at my own wedding!! 🙈 I changed the lyrics of the last song (O Sanam) especially for her on our big day.”
The groom chose three beautiful Bollywood songs for his mashup. He sang Humsafar from Badrinath ki Dulhaniya, Afreen Afreen by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and O Sanam by Lucky Ali. The cutest bit was that Shanay played his ukelele throughout the performance and the bride and groom gave us major Raj-Simran vibes. And the pyaar ka glow on Suneri’s face?
