Gossip Girl’s OG Costume Designer To Join The Reboot & Now We’re Looking Forward To 2020!

Did you hear, Upper East Siders? Finally, some good news that is making us look forward to 2020. It is known that our favourite teen show, Gossip Girl is getting a reboot on HBO Max. The high school slash high society slash highly stylish drama that aired for six years from 2007 to 2012 is making a comeback with an all-new cast. That means new Serena Van Der Woodsen, new Blair Waldorf, and new Gossip Girl. But one thing that will remain the same, or so we hope, is that Upper East Side glam.

If fashion isn’t the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about Gossip Girl, you haven’t really watched the show. And the reason why we have high hopes from the reboot is because *drumroll* the person behind your favourite Serena and Blair looks, Eric Daman, is all set to join the reboot as well! Eric is the original costume designer of the show and with him back, we can exact the same jazz and pizzazz on the reboot as well!

A decade and a half ago, Blair set the trend of headbands which spread like wildfire. From the steps of The Met to 2020, they have come a long, fashionable way and the credit goes to Eric. And remember Serena’s gold Cotillion gown? Now you know who designed that iconic piece of finesse.

In a statement to Teen Vogue, Eric said, “OMG I am so thrilled to be a part of the new GG Generation. It has been incredible to see the youth of today discovering and bingeing GG during these times!! Very excited to delight and inspire all of the GG Fans, new and OG, with some delicious, trendsetting fashions for this new era! Can’t Wait!! XoXo, E.”

With such great examples from the OG Gossip Girl still fresh in our memories, we cannot not expect the new Manhattan teens to set new trends with Eric’s help.
