Greetings, Upper East Siders. Ever since the news about the Gossip Girl reboot was announced, fans of the show have been in a frenzy about the thought of their favourite show making it back to our television screens (or, in this case, streaming platforms). Just a few days after the producers of Gossip Girl dropped the lead cast members of the upcoming reboot, four new cast members have been announced by the network. While we're not sure about what role these characters will be playing, we're assuming they're going to be part of the main supporting cast.
There's still no news about when the new show will air, but in the meantime, let's get to know some of the latest cast members a little better.
Perhaps the most exciting addition to the new cast is the familiar face of 23-year-old Tavi Gevinson. Tavi is a well-known magazine publisher/writer/actress and digital producer, who started her career in the publishing industry as a pre-teen. She went on to be the founder and editor of the iconic Rookie Magazine, and after seven years of a successful run, she made the decision to close operations in 2018. Besides her wildly successful publishing career, Tavi has also portrayed roles on screen, names in shows like Scream Queens, Parenthood, and also Broadway's The Crucible. Well, we can't wait to see what this real-life socialite will bring to the show!
Another familiar face to be added to the list of new cast members is Scottish actor Thomas Doherty. If you're a Disney fan, you might have spotted the 24-year-old in Descendants 2 and 3 as Harry Hook. He's also currently working on projects like Catherine the Great, High Fidelity, as well as a role in Vampire Diaries spinoff Legacies. We're sure the new Gossip Girl reboot is going to be a great addition to his kitty!
This young model and actor claims to "write bad poetry" and "act sometimes". Well, looks like someone is about to act full-time because she's just been added to the new cast! Going by how much she loves wearing berets and visiting Paris, this dark-haired beauty would definitely fit the role of Blair 2.0. What do you guys think?
This 33-year-old actor is a theatre veteran and has starred in productions like Next to Normal, Peter and the Starcatcher, and Amélie. Besides that, he also has a few acting credits to his belt, namely Soundtrack, Law & Order, Veep and Elementary. We're excited to see what this talented actor brings to this series!
While we're sure you're dying for more updates on when, where and how of the new show, but...that's all for now, folks! Don't worry, if and when any new news drops, we'll be the first ones to let you know. *wink*
XOXO, Gossip Girl.
