Hey Upper East Siders! Say Hello To The New Cast Of Gossip Girl 2.0

Rise and shine, Upper East Siders! It’s a brand new day and we’ve got the most phenomenal news EVER. Ever since the reboot of the iconic teen show Gossip Girl has been announced, the internet has been flooded with speculation about the new cast, plotline and potential release dates. Well, lucky for you, we’ve got you some fresh, juicy deets about the reboot!

Last year, HBO Max revealed that the show will be returning in a new avatar, but we don’t know much besides that and we have a LOT of questions. Are Serena and Dan still together? Have Blair and Chuck achieved world domination? Did golden boy Nate finally meet the girl of his dreams? Whatever happened to Jenny Humphrey? But most importantly…are ANY of these old characters returning to the new series?

While the jury’s still out on that last question, the network on March 2 announced the new faces of Manhattan’s elite. So take a close look at the people you’ve going to be obsessed with very, very soon.

Emily Alyn Lind

This 19-year-old blonde-haired beauty has been cast as a ‘lead’ in the show. Does that mean she’s the new Serena? Time will only tell. But if there’s one thing we know, Emily is on her way to becoming the latest ‘it’ girl on the Upper East Side and we can’t wait! If she looks familiar to you, it’s because you’ve probably seen her in shows like Doctor Sleep, Revenge and in The Babysitter.

Whitney Peak

Firstly, we’d just like to say that we’re so glad that the new cast is diverse unlike the previous one, which only featured caucasian actors. This young actor who’s all of 17 was born in Uganda and has played some significant roles in her career. She featured on Oscar-nominated film Molly’s Game, and also appeared on show iZombie. Besides acting, she’s also a competitive dancer–what a powerhouse of talent! We can already imagine her as an over-achieving Queen B like Blair.

Eli Brown

This 19-year-old dreamboat is already a familiar face. The guitar-strumming, book-reading actor has appeared on another teen favourite–Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. You might have also spotted him in a few episodes of Netflix’s Spinning Out. With Gossip Girl already in tow, Eli is also working on other projects including two upcoming films, The F**k-It List and Run Hide Fight. He’s giving us total Dan Humphrey vibes, and we can’t wait to see what the show has in store for him!

Jason Gotay

30-year-old Jason, besides being ridiculously good-looking, has quite a few feathers under his actor’s cap. A Broadway actor, he’s appeared in various popular productions including Bring It On and Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark. On screen, he’s appeared on Peter Pan Live! What kind of character do you think he’ll portray? He looks like a Chuck Bass to us. That scarf, amirite?

Johnathan Fernandez

Johnathan Fernandez, at 46, is already a well-established actor and comedian. So quite obviously, we’re curious as to the kind of role will he be portraying. Will he be a parent like Rufus? An affair-worthy boarding school teacher like Ben? With roles in shows like Lethal Weapon, GirlsYounger, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, we’re quite excited to see what this seasoned actor brings to this Upper East Side table!

So that’s all for the main cast for now. We’re still eagerly awaiting for more deets about the upcoming series to drop. And don’t worry, you’ll know as soon as we do!

XOXO, Gossip Girl.
