I was out on a date. After a shopping spree and dinner at my favourite restaurant, my boyfriend was dropping me back to my hostel. On the way back, we got stuck in the crazy Bangalore traffic...and there was a stadium nearby.
He looked at the stadium and said, “That place looks pretty deserted. Would you like to go inside?" By going inside he meant going there to make out, and I said yes.
We went inside and discovered that the place was not as empty as we had expected. There were many people around. But then it was a super huge complex, so we decided to go find some dark corner anyway.
He asked me to walk a few steps behind him so that we wouldn’t attract any attention. It seemed unnecessary to me, but I still agreed. Soon we found a spot with no one around and got busy with what we had come for.
Suddenly, we saw flashlights and some people coming in our direction! “Holy f**k! Run!” he screamed and started running in one direction. I jumped over the railings and hid behind a wall. But my cover wasn’t good enough; there were two guys, one of them a security guard, standing next to me.
I was standing there with my back against the wall and they were flashing the light on my face. My mind froze and I felt like a deer caught in the headlights of a car.
“What were you doing here?” the security guy asked me. I have no idea what came over me, but I start giggling! “Nothing!” I somehow managed to say in between my giggles.
“Where's the guy?” he then asked.
“I don't know,” I replied.
“Did he go up?” he asked, looking towards the stairs.
I took advantage of the moment and ran towards the exit. Oh, and while rushing towards the exit I had to grab my wallet, phone and the shopping bags. I don’t know why, but those men didn’t bother to chase me; instead they decided to go looking for my boyfriend.
As soon as I got out of the stadium, I called up my boyfriend to let him know that they were looking for him. “The security guy is looking for you, be careful. I ran away and I am now out of the stadium.”
He said, “Babe, don’t worry, they are not going to find me. I am hiding in the ladies’ loo.”
Then he told me to wait for him at the entrance and he came there after about 15 minutes. We looked at each other and burst out laughing. It was one crazy experience that I'm never going to forget. We still can’t stop laughing when we think about that day!
