One of the longest-running shows on Indian television, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai never underperformed at the TRP charts. This popular family drama has been running on Star Plus for a decade now. The channel has now announced that it is going to have a spin-off, which is titled Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, starring Shaheer Sheikh and Rhea Sharma in the lead roles. Although the launch date is yet to be announced, a teaser was released on Star Plus' official Twitter handle.
In the video, Shivangi Joshi aka Naira introduces the viewers to her cousin Mishti, who is going to be the protagonist in Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. For those of you who have watched the show, you'll recognise her as Naman and Karishma's daughter who played cupid between Kartik and Naira. Talking about their special bond, she says, "Do you remember Mishti? She is my younger sister who helped in bringing Kartik (Mohsin Khan) and I together. We don't share blood relation but still are very close to each other's heart. And, today Mishti has some questions about relationships."

A few days ago, the producer of the show Rajan Shahi confirmed this spin-off and revealed that the popular heartthrob, Shaheer Sheikh will play the male lead in the show. He added that it will be a dynamic role, something that this actor has never done before in the past. Shaheer had initially gained prominence for his role of Arjuna in Mahabharat and later went on to star in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi and historical drama Dastaan-E-Mohabbat: Salim Anarkali. Rhea Sharma, who will play the female lead, became a popular face after her role of Kanak in Star Plus' show Tu Sooraj, Main Saanjh Piyaji.
