Bonding Over Radio: Renowned Author Ruskin Bond To Narrate Short Stories On AIR!

"And when all the wars are over, a butterfly will still be beautiful," renowned Indian author Ruskin Bond wrote in his autobiography Scenes from a Writer's Life. This quote from his book exudes an enormous amount of positivity in the current times when the word is batteling the coronavirus pandemic. It will be over one day and normalcy will return, that's our only hope at the moment. However, the need of the hour lies in finding ways to keep ourselves occupied and staying positive. And to fill our lives with all those good thoughts, our beloved author of all times, Ruskin Bond, is all set to spend time with us every day till May 15.

Yes, that's right. The world's becoming digital and what's better than listening to beautiful tales about life by none other than Ruskin Bond whose pen will remain as prodigious as ever. Prasar Bharati has come up with an initiative to keep its listeners engaged amid the lockdown. All India Radio (AIR) is broadcasting a series of short stories by Ruskin Bond, which the author himself will be reading on the radio. The series, titled Bonding over the Radio, started yesterday. The series will go on for 14 more days until May 15. Well, looks like the lockdown 3.0 will end on a good note.

This beautiful series will contain a spectrum of genres-- from ghost tales to animal anecdotes, endearing stories of love to school tales, nature to autobiographical sketches-- you name it and you will have Ruskin Bond narrating it for you. The recordings will be available on Prasar Bharati’s mobile app NewsOnAir. And not just that, the recordings will also go live on FM Gold, Indraprastha and AIR Live News 24x7 at 7.10 am and 10.10 pm daily till May 15.

We can't thank Prasar Bharati enough for this initiative as we get to relive our childhood days. Ruskin Bod is India's most popular author who won the Padma Bhushan and also has been awarded the Padma Shri (fourth highest civilian award) for his contributions to children’s literature. We are sure his stories will bring some cheer in our lives.

In Ruskin Bond's words, our mantra in these unprecedented times should be, “Yesterday, I was sad, tomorrow I may be sad again, but today I know that I am happy." Bond wrote this in his book, called Delhi Is Not Far. Let's stay positive and deal with it all one day at a time!
