This has been one hectic wedding season and I’m tired from just looking at people’s Instagram. For the past month, my social media has been filled with my friends either attending weddings or getting married themselves. I’m not going to lie, there’s special happiness I get when I stalk popular wedding hashtags and save and screenshot all the outfits and jewellery pieces that have wowed me. Yes, I’m extremely passionate about shaadis.
The one wedding song that has been booming on everyone’s speakers these days is Lehanga by Jass Manak and it’s so catchy that it gets the whole baraat going. Obviously, just like we all got obsessed with Lamborghini, the lehenga song is what all the bridesmaids are dancing on at sangeet functions.
We recently found a video of Pakistani actor, Maya Ali dancing to the song at her brother’s wedding and we’re convinced that it caused a dhamaka even that side of the border.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Pakistani stars, Maya Ali is an actress, model and a VJ who is most prominently known for her roles in Pakistani television dramas and film industry. She made her debut with the 2018 action-drama film Teefa in Trouble opposite Ali Zafar. She followed it with a leading role in a romantic-comedy, Parey Hut Love that was a blockbuster commercial success.
If you think lehenga was the only song the star grooved to, then you’ve got more in store. 90s kids, get ready for some nostalgia cause she even danced to Chunari Chunari and we’re sure Sushmita Sen would be proud of her.
She even set the stage on fire with her dance on Aira Gaira from Karan Johar’s multi-starrer Kalank which has Kriti Sanon, Varun Dhawan and Aditya Roy Kapur grooving to the beats.
Honestly, all through the dance, it was her stunning red lehenga and mirror-work blouse that I was staring at. With minimal floral embroidery along with net sleeves, her outfit looked stunning. Also, her gajra bun and jhumkas were a classic look.
Lehanga has caused a stir in Pakistan as well. Jass Manak, what are you blessing us with next?!
