We’ve been waiting for the trailer of Gehraiyaan ever since the first look of the movie was out a few weeks ago. And the promo, that was released yesterday, proved to be beyond anything we expected. As evident from the video, Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday have put up their finest performances. The concept and storyline seem interesting and don’t even get us started on the sizzling chemistry between Siddhant and Deepika. Their steamy scenes look effortless and natural, and we’re sure that shooting them must have been incredibly difficult. The Cocktail actress just opened up about her experience of filming intimate scenes during a recent interview, and it sounds challenging AF.
While talking to a leading daily, Deepika revealed that shooting for intimate scenes is never easy and credited her director Shakun Batra for making her feel comfortable. She said, “I don’t think it would be possible without the comfort that he (Shakun) has given all of us. You feel you are working in an extremely safe and secure environment because intimacy is not easy. It is not something that we have never experienced or explored in Indian cinema before, in the way we have in this film.” She further explained that to go down this route of intimacy is only possible when the scenes are authentic and the director isn’t just adding them in the film for eyeballs.
That’s not all, Deepika also spoke about her role in the film and it sounds quite interesting. She said that she has done quite a few love stories and relationship drama movies in the past, but has never done a role like this before. “I want to say that my character in Gehraiyaan is bold. I also don’t want to say bold because (of) the way we understood bold in our films and the characters that we’ve seen. So, I’d say raw. I think, for me, this character is a lot more raw and a lot more real than some of the other characters that I have played. Emotionally, it is completely stripped and naked in that sense, and completely vulnerable,” she added.
Well, we’re sure Deepika and the other stars in the film have done a fabulous job, and we can’t wait to watch Gehraiyaan next month. Here’s hoping February 11 comes soon!
