Picture this: you are casually scrolling through your Instagram feed and suddenly, you come across one of the most amazing teasers you’ve seen in a while. Well, it happened with us today and we have Karan Johar to thank for it. The producer shared the first look of Shakun Batra’s upcoming movie, called Gehraiyaan. The movie stars Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Dhairya Karwa and Siddhant Chaturvedi in the leading roles and honestly, the one-minute clip is giving us major feels.
KJo shared the teaser on his ‘Gram and wrote in the caption, “It’s time to dive deep and find out what’s beneath just the surface.” Take a look:
NGL, this teaser is taking us on an emotional rollercoaster and we have so many feelings about it. Firstly, we need to mention that all the actors are looking fab in the video. While we know that DP is a phenomenal actress, we’re quite excited to see Ananya’s performance as her character looks different from the ones she has done previously. It seems that the actress will be playing the role of a mature urban woman and we’re curious to see her in this new avatar.
Siddhant looks quite charming in the teaser and we’re loving his chemistry with Deepika. The two look absolutely stunning together and this is one on-screen jodi we’d be looking forward to in 2022. Also, we are eager to watch Dharya’s performance who made his debut with the movie, Uri: The Surgical Strike.
From Deepika’s hesitation in opening the door for Siddhant and kissing him passionately to Ananya’s troubled look while staring at her phone, the scenes have captured human emotions beautifully. In a recent interview with a leading daily, Karan talked about the movie and said, “Gehraiyaan is an intense, real, and honest observation of modern relationships, and Shakun has done a phenomenal job of portraying the complexities of human emotions. That, combined with the cast’s earnest and powerful performances, make the film a truly compelling story.”
The film will revolve around love, betrayal, friendship, career and people’s struggle of balancing them all in life. We also like how the scenes in the teaser are shown in parallel frames. It somehow conveys the message that every decision we make has effects on our loved ones. While talking about the movie, the director said, “It (Gehraiyaan) is a mirror into modern adult relationships, how we traverse through the maze of feelings and emotions and how each step, each decision we make affects our lives and the lives of those around.”
Gehraiyaan is all set to release on January 25 on Amazon Prime. Well, the first month of 2022 is going to be hella interesting and this intense teaser is proof!
