What makes a desi bride? An elaborate lehenga, tons of heavy jewellery and the most beautifully done eye makeup, right? Wrong! New-age brides are taking a more minimalistic route when decking up for their wedding day. ‘Less is more’ is the mantra and I am lovin’ it. I recently stumbled upon a gorgeous Pakistani bride who shattered all the norms that define what a bride should ‘look’ like.
For her wedding, Rameen Malik wore a stunning multi-hued lehenga set from the house of Sabyasachi. Featuring a green choli and an orange net dupatta, she added a matching potli to complete her look. But the best part about her bridal look was that she decided to go makeup-free. She wore just a nude lipstick and subtle eyeshadow. She even ditched the heavy jewellery for a pair of statement studs. Her glossy skin stole the show for me!
Call me cheesy but I can’t stop humming, ‘Pari ho ya ho pariyoon ki rani!’ Also, I hope she can share her skincare routine with everyone soon. That glow is the stuff of dreams!
