TV actress Tina Dutta rose to fame with her stint as Ichcha in popular daily soap Uttaran. She has been ruling over the prime time slot since the longest time now. Currently, she is portraying the role of Jaahnvi Morya in Daayan opposite actor Mohit Malhotra of Splitsvilla fame, who plays Akarsh Chaudhary in the show.
The actress has been in the news lately for allegedly accusing co-star Mohit Malhotra of touching her inappropriately on the sets of the show Daayan.
In a recent interview with a media portal, Tina revealed, “He would say that his character demands that he should keep his hand here and there. There was a big showdown on the set. It happened at Klick Nixon Studios when we were shooting for a hospital scene. Some media people were also there and they saw this. Of course. I made it loud and clear. I have done rape scenes, romantic scenes and intimate scenes before in my career, but never faced something like this with anyone before. He is so annoying. He is so frustrated. It is so clear if a girl is uncomfortable, you can understand from her body language.”

Apparently, the actress has been facing this issue for quite some time now. Mohit’s misconduct has been noticed by the crew members as well and a source close to the show revealed that despite been given several warnings, Mohit continued to get close to Tina and behave inappropriately with her. He has been giving lame excuses to touch her making her uncomfortable. In fact, the actress also broke down on the sets and has come crying to work too.
After things got out of hand and Mohit refused to mend his ways, Tina went public saying, “It was going on since a long time. I went public only after it became so much that I couldn’t take it anymore. Nobody gives excuses like him that ‘woh scene mein bahek gaya tha’. He can’t say he got carried away. He was obviously doing it deliberately.”
Curious to know what Mohit had to say about this, the media questioned him recently. However, he denied all the allegations against him and went on record to say, “She is my good friend and we share a cordial relationship.”
The production team has been very supportive of Tina. She has left it to them to take an action against him. And you wouldn’t believe but reportedly, the makers of the show are planning to shut it down. Yes, you heard that right!
A source close to the team said “The TRPs have been going down consistently. Also, the actors on the set are not cooperating, therefore, the team has decided to wrap up the storyline and finish it.”
Turns out the makers were planning to take the show off-air for a lot of reasons other than Tina and Mohit’s strained off-screen chemistry but it definitely added to the list of reasons.
