Don’t Waste Time & Get Immediate Help If You Notice These Emergency COVID Symptoms

More than 12 months on and coronavirus continues to spread in the world. India, especially has been one of the worst-hit countries in recent times. The number of positive cases has been at an all-time high and continues to rise at an alarming rate.

Even the symptoms, as they’ve been noticed in several cases, move from mild to severe in no time. The slightest bit of carelessness in identifying the symptoms can lead to severe complications, hospitalisation and even prove to be fatal.

Simply put, this isn’t one disease where you have the luxury of wasting time and seeing if you get better as every minute counts. The most common symptoms that have been reported so far include fever, loss of taste or smell and dry cough among others. However, during the ongoing second wave, there’s been a rapid rise in complications. Although the signs of the virus start appearing slowly, some symptoms such as a burning sensation in the chest could indicate that you need immediate medical attention.

Chest Pain

COVID-19 is an infection of the upper respiratory system that attacks the lungs and in some cases, the heart. This can possibly lead to chest pain or a burning sensation in the lung as it’s been noted in several cases.

As per the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), constant pain or pressure in your chest could mean severe infection in the lungs. While it still not clear, experts in the field believe that chest pain during COVID-19 could be due to heart injury or lung inflammation

Seeking emergency medical care at the onset can help cut down the risk of severe complications and fatality.

Are you experiencing a burning sensation in the throat and chest? If yes, then it would do you good to get yourself tested as the symptom also indicates COVID-19.

Symptoms like throat pain and acid reflux are linked with digestive issues, another common symptom of COVID-19 witnessed in about 61 per ent of cases.

However, this is more common in people who have a history of gastrointestinal disease. Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, acid reflux, throat pain and constipation are some common signs of stomach-related issues experienced by most people suffering from COVID-19.
