The coronavirus pandemic is a scary time for everyone- it’s terrifying for our front liners and their families who are putting their own lives at risk to keep us safe. It’s sad for people who had major events like weddings scheduled for this time, it’s also scary for people who have old family members or young kids because the fatality level is extremely high in these age groups. Now imagine couples who are pregnant during this time.
Actors Ekta Kaul and Sumeet Vyas recently took to Instagram to announce that they are soon going to welcome their first child. In fact, the soon-to-be mother even went on a trip to Ladhak and biked her way there before she knew she was pregnant.
“I felt like a rock star when I learnt the news on my return. I had gone to meet Sumeet who was shooting in Ladakh and wanted to explore the place. So, I made some friends with the crew and we all went for a bike ride. Throughout the trip, I was feeling slightly unwell and marked it down to altitude sickness”, she said.
The Veere Di Wedding actor also spoke in an interview about having the child during this global crisis. “Fortunately, our last check-up was towards the end of February and the next one is in April-end. We’d want to have our baby in my aunt’s maternity hospital, but if the current scenario doesn’t improve, we might have to think of alternate options”, he said.
He also added that the child’s safety and health is their top priority. “I don’t want our child to grow up in an environment where they can’t go out to play. But I am an optimist and believe that this too shall pass”, Vyas added.
During the quarantine period, Sumeet and his wife Ekta have been spending quality time pampering each other and it’s hella cute.
