“Relax, just relax, it’s going to get better, it will be fine, breathe…” This is exactly what most of us were thinking yesterday. We kept reminding ourselves that it was not the end of the world and things would get back to normal eventually. Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram were down for more than six hours globally on Monday and our lives looked so dull without them.
Mark Zuckerberg, the chief executive officer of Facebook, shared a post on the social media platform and apologised to all the users worldwide. He wrote, “Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger are coming back online now. Sorry for the disruption today — I know how much you rely on our services to stay connected with the people you care about.”
Whatsapp CEO, Will Cathcart, took to Twitter and apologised to his users after the social media platform reconnected to the global internet. He said, “We know that people were unable to use WhatsApp to connect with their friends, family, businesses, community groups, and more today—a humbling reminder of how much people and organisations rely on our app every day”
While we did face some inconvenience, NGL, it was good to spend some time without our phones buzzing every few minutes. Also, Twitter was quite a happening place yesterday as that’s where all the action was. Well, what happens when almost all the netizens in the world are stuck in one place? They turn to Twitter and flood the social media platform with hilarious memes! Within a span of 5-6 hours, Twitterati shared some really funny posts and we still cannot stop laughing. Take a look at all these interesting memes:

The second we start believing that we have seen it all and the worst has passed, *bam*, we are faced with another terrible experience.
Even The Giants Are At It!
Online streaming giant, Netflix, and IPL cricket team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, also jumped on the wagon and shared memes that resonated with their users’ moods.
Twitter FTW!
Amid all the chaos, it was Twitter that emerged as the real MVP. So, thoda limelight toh banta hai, right?

Another minute of silence for those who waited patiently for all the social media platforms to reconnect to the global internet because it took a loooong time. A lot of us even went to sleep instead of waiting and we cannot blame them.
Welcome To The Real World
TBH, it was fun to keep our phones away and enjoy our time without staying connected to the virtual world.
According to the website monitoring group called Downdetector, this was the largest global outage failure Facebook had ever seen. As per a leading international daily, the social media platform has blamed the crash on router work.
Well, things are back to normal now and we’re glad that we can send messages, watch Reels and share stories again!
