6 Non-Bollywood Celebs We Enjoyed Watching On Koffee With Karan
Koffee With Karan is a Bollywood celeb chat show, and while there’s no doubt that b-town stars make for entertaining guests, it’s always refreshing and fun to watch non-actors too. Without further ado, here’s a list of non-Bollywood celebrities who aced it on KWK!
Sania Mirza
Not a lot of people knew that Sania Mirza and Farah Khan were BFFs before they graced the KWK couch together during season 5! It was refreshing to watch Sania in a glamorous avatar, sharing interesting revelations and anecdotes throughout the episode. Some of her answers during the KWK rapid-fire round were honest, while others were diplomatic- but it was an entertaining watch nonetheless!
Mahesh Bhupathi
Did you know Mahesh Bhupathi is an avid fan of Govinda and David Dhawan films? We didn’t either! Mahesh Bhupathi appeared on Koffee With Karan season 3 with Lara Dutta, and was the first-ever sports personality to be featured on the show. The tennis player aced it on the show with his witty, straight-faced, and hilarious responses. He even got candid about his equation with Leander Paes, his previous marriage, and his intriguing love story with Lara Dutta.
Shweta Bachchan Nanda
Shweta Bachchan had initially graced the show along with Amitabh Bachchan on Koffee With Karan season 3, but it was her appearance with Abhishek Bachchan during season 6 that remains memorable! The brother-sister duo made for entertaining guests, and their quirky answers and incredible sense of humour were unmissable. Shweta was honest and forthright throughout the conversation, and we loved hearing about interesting childhood anecdotes, and her bond with Abhishek.
Sakshi Tanwar & Smriti Irani
Not a lot of people remember this, but television actresses Sakshi Tanwar and Smriti Irani graced Koffee With Karan during season 1 when their popularity was at its peak. It was refreshing to see Karan discussing daily soaps instead of Bollywood movies, and the two actresses made some interesting revelations about their journeys. Smriti Irani revealed that except for Ekta Kapoor, the entire team of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was against casting her as Tulsi, while Sakshi said she initially didn’t identify with Parvati’s character at all!
Shobhaa De
Shobhaa De appeared with Shabana Azmi during the first season of Koffee With Karan, and it was amazing to see the two ladies discuss independent filmmakers, journalism, cinema, and more. Shabana Azmi and Shobhaa De both had strong (sometimes contradictory!) opinions that they put forth firmly without sugar-coating any of it.
