The world is full of fascinating places but it’s a whole other thing to view them through the Google Earth tool. The search giant has been adding images of stunning landscapes to its repository over the last decade.
And now, Google Earth just released a new set of 1000 images of the world’s most beautiful landscapes, and they’re totally worth it.
Over 35 of the 1000 images are of Indian landscapes, which include Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

Other pictures that made it to the list are from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Karnataka among other states. Agatti Island, which is roughly a 7 km long island situated in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, is also featured in the high-resolution satellite images.

Google Earth shared a link to view all the pictures on their Twitter handle and captioned it, ‘Explore the beauty of the planet through Earth View’.

In a blog, Google Earth Product Manager Gopal Shah wrote, ‘Today, we’re making our biggest update to Earth View by adding more than 1,000 new images to the collection, bringing the total to more than 2,500 striking landscapes…Over the last decade, the collection has been witnessed by millions around the world as wallpapers for Android devices, screensavers for Chromecast and Google Home, and as an interactive exhibit in Google Earth’s Voyager’.
The blog read that the upgraded imagery has been optimised for higher-resolution 4K screens with sharper images. Google also has a Chrome extension that you can install on your browser to view the images.
So get going and look for a new wallpaper for your laptop. Aren’t the pictures stunning?
