If there’s one couple in Indian TV history that served major #RelationshipGoals, it was Divya Agarwal and Varun Sood. Since their appearance on MTV’s Ace Of Space, the then love birds had everyone rooting for them. However, the couple left fans devastated when they announced their split earlier this year, and we were certainly part of the heartbroken club.
While the two never spoke publicly about their reason for breaking up, Divya finally broke her silence and revealed why the two decided to part ways. Speaking to a media portal, the reality star said, “I could not see my future with Varun, and hence I decided to end the relationship on a good note. It was my decision to put the news of our breakup on social media and I received a lot of flak for my decision. I used to get abused but I chose to ignore it as my inner peace is what matters.” TBH, we can only imagine how difficult it might be for Divya to go through a public breakup. And truth be told, we’re totally in awe of her courage!
In March of this year, Divya spoke about her breakup on an Instagram post while asking her fans to respect her decision. She said, “Life is such a circus! Try n keep everyone happy, expect nothing that’s true but what happens when the self love starts declining? No i don’t blame anyone for anything that’s happening to me.. I feel worked up .. and that’s okay .. I want to breathe n live for myself .. that’s okay. I hereby formally declare that I’m on my own in this life and would like to take my time to live the way I want to. No, it’s not always necessary to have big statements, excuses and reasons for a decision. It’s just my choice to step out of it. I really value and love all the happy moments I spent with him. He’s a great guy! He will always be my best friend. Please respect my decision”.
And while we’ve always shipped #Divrun, we respect that Divya and Varun have amicably decided to move on. Here’s wishing both of them nothing but the best.
