4 Beauty Tips From Princess Diaries That Are Still So Relevant

Did you hear that? The third sequel of Princess Diaries is in the making! IDK how many of you GenZ girls are hyped at the mention of this movie – but trust me this 2001 hit was a cult favourite and also the crux of every teenage girl’s dream. It was also Anne Hathaway’s shot to fame and my one of my favourite films!

Now that we are expecting The Princess Diaries 3, I happened to quickly hop onto my laptop and watch the first and second parts of this movie. And oh boy, the beauty tips this movie gave us in the 00s are still so relevant even in 2023!

Cucumber Slices Work

In the iconic scene where Mia Thermopolis was seen chilling with her headphones, she also has two slices of cucumber on her eyes. While Paolo (just Google him if you do not know who that is yet) said that “Cucumbers don’t work!”, I know for a fact they do. All those dark circles & puffy eyes can take a backseat – we have our cucumber glasses on!

Paddle brushes and curly hair do not go well – and I have a lot of painful stories or broken brushes to back me up. So when Paolo wanted to brush Mia’s thick AF curls, the posh-looking paddle brush snapped. Ouch! But there goes lesson 1 for the girlies with curls – use a damn wide-toothed comb, ladies!

Half-Up Hairstyle Is Always In

When in doubt, go for a half-up ‘do. It is Princess Mia-approved. Be it a brunch date or a movie night with the girls, a half-updo where you either tie the top half of your hair in a ponytail or clip it up like Mia can work wonders.

There is nothing a makeover cannot fix. I mean from Mia Thermopolis to Princess Mia, Princess Diaries is a whole movie based on makeovers only! Though this movie was made more than a decade ago, I am sure even today girls can vouch for the dopamine effect makeovers have on us!
