10 Romantic Hairstyles I’m Bookmarking To Ace My Wedding Guest Look

As someone who loves attending weddings, I find myself scrolling through Instagram weeks in advance so I can plan my look. And if the decision is so tough for me, I can only imagine the confusion a bride-to-be must go through.

I’ve always leaned towards hairstyles that are timeless and romantic. Think flowers, and minimal accessories. Trends may come and go but these pictures are going to be framed (hopefully) forever.

I’ve spent a lot of time looking for these hairstyles & I’m going to share all my favourites with you.

Masaba Gupta’s South Indian-Inspired Accessories

Instagram

For her lowkey wedding, the fashion designer pulled her hair back into a sleek bun. She wore customised chaand taara jewels inspired by South Indian headgear for a unique look. All the cool girls are wearing the centre-parted bun and I’ve bookmarked it too.

Mouni Roy’s Paranda Braid

Instagram

The Brahmastra actress sported a clean braid featuring flowers at the nape of her neck and a paranda with gold zari detailing at the end of her hair. I wear my parandas with pataiala suits even when it’s not for a wedding!

Athiya Shetty’s Sassy Textured Ponytail

Instagram

For her mehendi ceremony, Athiya Shetty pulled her long hair up into a ponytail. Her hairstylist, Namrata Soni curled the ends of it to give her hair volume while a pair of statement earrings with a minimal ear chain highlighted her look. I’m taking notes from this one for when I have to attend a shaadi with second-day hair!

Rhea Kapoor’s Glamorous Pearl Veil

Instagram

For her intimate wedding ceremony, Rhea was a vision in white. The stylist went for a poker-straight and fuss-free glossy hairdo but accessorised with a pearl veil customised by Birdhichand that was the highlight of her entire look. I have my heart set on wearing a similar piece to my bestie’s wedding!

Alia Bhatt’s Effortless & Sleek Gajra Bun

Instagram

When I’m aiming for minimal glamm, I refer to Alia’s looks. Her sleek bun and white jasmine flowers is an elegant and timeless wedding hairdo. This one always gets me compliments without even trying!

Karisma Kapoor’s Creative Braided Bun

Instagram

When I’m keen on showing off my backless blouse, Lolo’s look is my inspiration. Her hair was braided and then wrapped into a bun and held together with bobby pins. I struggle with flyaways so a hair gel or wax keeps my hairdo intact.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s Elegant, Floral Braid

Instagram

For her mehndi, the Veere Di Wedding actress sported a braid that was wrapped in white jasmine flowers that also complemented her white and gold lehenga well. This bridal hairdo is one of the reasons I’m growing my hair out!

Anushka Sharma’s Pastel, Floral Bun

Instagram

For her private wedding in Italy, Anushka Sharma set the trend for subtlety with her bridal look. Her hair was styled into a bun and decorated with pastel pink and white flowers to match her Sabyasachi lehenga. The actress’ entire look is on my wedding mood board. The only thing I need now is a dulha!

Janhvi Kapoor’s Side-Swept, Romantic Fishtail Braid

Instagram

Janhvi Kapoor‘s hairdo has become my go-to for mehndi ceremonies because I don’t have to worry about hair getting in my face. It also looks so elegant!

Shraddha Kapoor’s Pearl Embellished Braids

Instagram

Shraddha may have aimed at imitating Elsa but her simple braided hairdo is perfect for minimal brides as well. I like to leave a few strands of hair loose only on one side of my face while recreating this look.

My hair’s about to look real good for the next wedding!
