Masaba Gupta Just Got Married & Here’s Everything You Need To Know About The Ceremony!

Every time I refresh my Instagram page, someone gets married! On 27 January, fashion designer Masaba Gupta got married to actor Satyadeep Misra and their wedding photos are a refreshing change from most celeb shaadis. The couple chose a court wedding to seal the deal and even though it was a simple affair, a lot of thought went into it. Scroll down to find out everything there is about Masaba’s wedding to her reel and real-life hero!

Jab Masaba Met Misra

The couple met on the sets of Masaba Masaba, where Satyadeep played the role of her ex-husband. They bonded over their shared interest for fitness and leading a healthy lifestyle. Being away from the limelight and not letting the outside world affect them is something they both agree on. Satyadeep, who made his Bollywood debut with No One Killed Jessica, practiced law before pursuing acting as a career.

Yet Another Intimate Wedding!

With just their immediate family in attendance, Masaba and Satyadeep chose to have a court marriage. Mom Neena Gupta and stepdad Vivek Mehra were present, along with Masaba’s father, Viv Richards. From the groom’s side, his mom, Nalini Misra and sister, Chinmaya Misra joined in. The newlyweds plan to throw a party for 80-85 people in the coming days for their extended family and friends.

A Wedding With A Theme

The Open Heart was the theme of the wedding and it reflected in various elements – from the save-the-dates to the bridal outfit. Masaba elaborated that the theme reminds them of their relationship and the fact that they came into this with an open heart.

Not Your Basic Bridal Lehenga

Instagram

Needless to say, both the bride and groom wore House of Masaba. Keeping true to her personality, Masaba gave traditional bridal colours a miss and wore the prettiest contrasting shades on her big day. She matched her barfi pink raw silk lehenga with a lime green dupatta featuring wallflower print. The second lilac dupatta came with the words open hearts’ embellished on the border.

In an Insta post, Masaba elaborated that the palm embroidered on her lehenga is the first motif from House of Masaba. The embellished birds celebrate the union of tradition and freedom, she further added. It’s a sign that women can believe in the institution of marriage yet follow their hearts and voice their thoughts freely.

Masaba kept her makeup fairly simple with a soft focus base, kohl-lined eyes, a glossy pout, and a centre-parted bun. Fluffy brows and the blush on her cheeks complemented the outfit perfectly.

The Vintage Jewellery

Instagram

Masaba’s bridal jewellery wasn’t a heavy kundan neckpiece with earrings to match. The bride layered vintage pieces that her mother had collected over the years. She did, however, get a customised ‘chaand taara’ headpiece by Anatina. The designer shared that the sun represents energy and the various phases of moon affect us in ways we don’t even recognise.

Satyadeep matched his bride in a light pink hue. He wore a wallflower bandhgala with a relaxed kurta-pyjama. The entire family too wore House of Masaba in various shades of yellow. Neena Gupta wore a candy swirl print organza saree while the ladies on the groom’s side went with florals. Both the dads wore mustard to add a hint of brightness to the pictures.

The Man Behind The Dreamy Pictures!

Masaba and Satyadeep’s vintage-style photos were clicked by celeb-fave Joseph Radhik. The inspiration was drawn by old-world India, the maharajas and maharanis. The background featured a painting of an acrobat. It represented marriage and life, both of which are about balance and stability.

I love the amount of thought that went into Masaba Gupta and Satyadeep Misra’s wedding. It was super intimate and super sweet and I can’t wait for them to share more from the celebrations!
