Hair, Make-up & Outfits – This POPxo Bride’s Wedding Looks Can’t Be Missed!

Our Assistant Editor, Priyanka Ghura, tied the knot recently and her weddingwas nothing short of a fairytale. She got married to her college sweetheart, Rushad Kuka in an intimate ceremony at the luxurious Sun N Sand hotel in Mumbai. While this pretty Sindhi-Parsi wedding was quite a close-knit affair, we just couldn’t help but notice her striking fashion and beauty choices at each of her wedding functions. “My topmost priority was to book a good make-up artist as soon as my wedding date got fixed. I met a few MUA’s before meeting Shradha Luthria from Dollyouup, whose work I loved and Ritika Hairstylist for my hair. I was very particular about my make-up being very natural, I wanted to look radiant but not OTT. My wedding outfits were a mix between designer and bespoke and were finalized in a little less than five months!,” she shared.

Here’s a breakdown of her beauty and fashion looks, that we are sure, will inspire several brides-to-be…

Mehendi

Priyanka wore a gorgeous yellow Arpita Mehta lehenga which was quite an unusual choice for her. She shared “I don’t usually wear too much bright yellow but fell in love with the Arpita Mehta creation. I wanted to wear something colourful and vibrant for my mehendi and this fit the bill perfectly. I fell in love with the tasseled blouse and shaded cape-style jacket instead of a dupatta. I think it complimented my flower jewellery really well.” A perfect choice for the daytime event, don’t you agree?

Priyanka opted for a soft and dewy avatar to balance out the brightness of her beautiful yellow lehenga. She shares, “Mehendi functions can get messy and I was sure I wanted my hair out of my face but didn’t want to go with the regular side-braid route! My hairstylist Ritika, created a beautiful braid with loose side flicks that looked great. In fact, it was my favourite hair look out of all functions and I just love the flowers we used. As for the make-up, we decided on a soft and natural look for the day. I wore a pink nude lipstick, matching blush and some subtle champagne gold eyeshadow.’

Sangeet

For the sparkly sangeet night, Priyanka wore a silver grey Ridhi Mehra lehenga which she shopped from the designer’s Delhi workshop. “I have a soft spot for tassels which is one of the reasons why I fell in love with this blouse on Ridhi’s Instagram page. I customized the skirt and even added a blush pink dupatta (instead of a grey one, which was part of the original look in the collection) to add a pop of colour to my otherwise monotone outfit. Oh and I got tassels added to the corners of the dupatta too!’

We are in love with her glowy make-up look, especially the sparkly eyes.

Priyanka explains, “ Even though I was a bit unsure about trying glittery eyeshadow, my make-up artist, Shradha convinced me to go for sparkly lids which complimented my outfit very well. I had smokey eyes, pink lips and a soft wavy half-up hairstyle. I love how flowy the long waves looked and the pretty accessory Ritika added to my hair.” We love it too, girl!

Wedding

It’s a tough choice but if we had to pick, this would be our favourite look amongst all. Her bridal avatar was chic and elegant with just the right amount of glitz and glamour. Everything from the saree – we’re loving that baby pink hue, to the dewy make-up is bridal goals!

Priyanka wore a Gujarati/Parsi Pallu style pink saree that was custom designed for her “Traditionally, Parsi brides wear a white saree during the wedding ceremony but I was not to keen on wearing white and chose a pretty pastel pink shade instead. To be quite honest, the wedding saree was the last outfit I bought. After months of research and scouring designer boutiques, I wasn’t able to zero in on ‘the one’ as it had to suit Parsi sensibilities as well. I wanted something that was true to my style and finally decided to get it custom made.”

Priyanka flaunted a beautiful, romantic bun that was decorated with the choicest of baby’s breath and two-toned roses. Since she wanted a natural and dewy look, Shradha added lots of highlighter to her skin with a touch of a soft pink blush that accentuated her natural bridal glow.

Reception

The reception was held on the same day as the wedding ceremony. “Believe me, I just had 30 minutes to change between the ceremony and reception!” she smiles. While the make-up remained the same, her hair was opened and the ends were tonged into soft curls. She also added a gorgeous matha patti to add to her princess-bride look. “ Since I couldn’t wear the traditional reds and pinks for the Parsi ceremony, I chose to go with a red Tarun Tahiliani lehenga for my reception. In fact, this was the first outfit that I had finalized and originally wanted to wear it for my sangeet. But I am glad I chose it for my reception and I think it looked fabulous.” she added.

We think she looked stunning and are pretty sure her looks will be a reference point for all you brides-to-be!
