Silky, soft, touch-me hair is what most women spend their lives lusting after. But splurging on expensive products and regular visits to the salon may not get you closer to those dreams. There are a few inexpensive methods you could try instead for fabulously smooth strands. Yes, ladies, by gathering a few products from your kitchen, you can cook up a yummy treat for your locks. We give you a few home remedies for soft and silky hair. So, let’s get started?

1. Creamy Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise as an ingredient is super effective for treating dry and damaged hair. It moisturizes and nourishes from the roots to tips. It also protects your strands from the harmful rays of the sun. If you have a blah hair texture, it’s time to bring it back to life!

Step 1 – Take a huge scoop of mayo, and empty it into a glass.

Step 2 – After heading out from a shower, don’t dry your hair using a towel. Instead, apply the mayo on your damp hair.

Step 3 – Once you’ve applied it, give yourself a good hair massage.

Step 4 – Cover your head using a shower cap, and let the mayo sit on your hair for 30 minutes.

Step 5 – After 30 minutes, remove the cap, rinse your hair using chilled water and a apply mild shampoo.

Step 6 – Keep the shampoo on for 15 odd minutes, and wash it well.

2. Healthy Avocados

Avocados are loaded with nutrients which are good for your body. These nutrients help keeping your hair strands moist and healthy. They’re all natural and make an occasional healthy snack for your hair.

Step 1 – In a container, mash one ripe avocado and banana together.

Step 2 – Once the two ingredients have become one, add a tablespoon of almond oil into the mix.

Step 3 – Mix together and apply the paste onto your scalp and massage it into your scalp.

Step 4 – Next, tie your hair up and cover it up with a shower cap.

Step 5 – Leave it on for 30 minutes.

Step 6 – Rinse the paste off by using lukewarm water and mild shampoo.

3. Tasty Beer

A yummy glass of beer not only cools you down, but also surprisingly does the same to your hair. It acts like an excellent hair tonic and repairs damaged hair. It also nourishes hair follicles and improves hair texture. Don’t think, just use it!

Step 1 – After your hair is washed with shampoo, pour flat beer on it.

Step 2 – Then, slowly begin massaging your hair in a circular motion.

Step 3 – Let your hair soak in the beer and keep it that way for just 5 minutes.

Step 4 – Using lukewarm water to rinse it off.

4. Traditional Coconut Oil

For years, coconut oil is known to do wonders for one’s hair. It is an excellent source of nourishment and helps restore moisture to dry and damaged hair. If used regularly, it can make your hair look and feel glossy and healthy.

Step 1 – Warm the coconut oil, and gently using your fingertips make your way to the roots.

Step 2 – Gently start massage your scalp and hair.

Step 3 – Use a shower cap or a damp towel to cover your head, and let the oil sit there for 30 minutes.

Step 4 – Wash your hair with shampoo, and use a conditioner after.

5. Nutritious Eggs

Providing nourishment, improving hair texture, and keeping the roots of your hair strong is what eggs do when applied on your hair. Since it contains proteins and lecithin, it helps keeping hair moist and glossy.

Step 1 – In a glass bowl, mix the whites of an egg with one tablespoon of fresh olive oil and yummy honey.

Step 2 – Mix well till it turns a thick paste.

Step 3 – Then, apply it on your hair and scalp.

Step 4  – Put on a shower cap, and leave it there for 30 minutes.

Step 5 – Wash your hair with shampoo and chilled water after.
