The glitz, the glamour, the baby bottles and diapers—how do they even juggle it all? While balancing their careers, many actresses have been raising their children on their own and making it look effortless.

Whether by choice or happenstance, these amazing single moms are a village all unto themselves and we are constantly in awe of their strength. Let’s celebrate these wonderful mothers!

Not many people know that the OG Komolika welcomed twin sons when she was just 17 years old. Urvashi got married at the young age of 16, and while her marriage didn’t last, she continues to be a proud mom to Sagar and Kshitij. In a previous interview, she opened up about her struggles as a single parent and said, “There are a lot of people who came and went in the interim and said a lot of things to me, a lot. Some said behind my back, some of them said brutally on my face, very personal attacks on me but then if I start all this affecting me, I wouldn’t be where I am. I had no choice but to ignore all of them”

Neena Gupta

From breaking stereotypes to embracing her life’s journey as a single mother, is there anything Neena Gupta can’t do? She is the mother of popular designer Masaba Gupta, whom she had with legendary cricketer Vivian Richards. In her book Sach Kahu Toh, Neena talked about the judgement she faced as a single mom and penned, “My journey was very tough. I had no money. Money is the most important thing, I have realised in this world. I didn’t have a husband or relatives. So it was really tough, but the joy Masaba gave me… The joy of motherhood… She was a very good child she did not trouble me much.”

Since then she has been an inspiration for young women everywhere. A little while ago, in an interview, Sushmita shared that the wisest decision she ever made was adopting at 24. She said, “It (adopting Renee) stabilised my life. People think it was a great act of charity and wonderful action but it was self-preservation. It was me protecting myself.”

Juhi Parmar

Television’s favourite bahu Juhi is the mother of a nine-year-old daughter, Samairra and she often posts about her journey. Along with a recent post, she penned, “Remember single parenting maybe lesser hands but my hands multiply, my responsibility doubles! But I shall not leave any stone unturned just like any other single parent out there….So Accept and keep your judgements at bay. #singlemom #singleparent #capable #confident #rockit #motherdaughter #reels #reelsinstagram”
