Sushmita Sen has been the quintessential trailblazer in every sense of the word. She’s an inspiration and has made us all fall in love with the person she is time and again. Believe it or not, the actress was just 24 when she decided to be a single mother to her adopted daughter Renee, and a few years later, she adopted her younger daughter Alisah.
Recently, social media was buzzing with rumours that Sushmita has adopted another child. It all started when the Aarya actress was spotted with a baby boy and her two daughters. However, a little birdie just told us that the little munchkin in question is actually Sushmita’s friend’s son.
NGL, given how happy the little one looks with Sush, we can understand the confusion! The actress certainly has a way with kids.
When Sushmita Met Renee…
A little ago, in an interview, Sushmita shared that the wisest decision she ever made was adopting at 24. She said, “It (adopting Renee) stabilised my life. People think it was a great act of charity and wonderful action but it was self-preservation. It was me protecting myself. The night before I brought her home, I was throwing up all through the night—nervous as a bride. That night, I had decided I was going to be a mother—but I didn’t know how. I kept asking how will I do this… Now, everything works”
Along Came Alisah!
In 2010, Sushmita adopted another adorable little girl named Alisah and doubled the happiness in her life. If you were to scroll through the Main Hu Na actress’ ‘Gram, you’ll know that she is the apple of everyone’s eyes in the Sen fam.
Just a little while ago, Alisah was featured in Sush’s Instagram post and talked about adoption. She said, “I believe that you should adopt a child from the orphanage since you will have happiness in your family. After all, a child must have the right to live. You might be thinking that adopting a child means more responsibility than a biological one. But no, you are wrong. Both types are the same and secondly, there shouldn’t even be a differentiation.”
