It was just another one of our trips to Goa. But this time, he seemed more excited than I was. We reached our hotel at 11 in the night and even though I was exhausted, he insisted that we go to the beach. What I saw next was indeed a fairytale come true. He had reserved a table by the beach and planned a perfect candlelight dinner for the two of us. Well, little did I know that this was going to be something more than just a dinner. Right before I even started to eat, he kneeled down and proposed to me with a ring in his hand. The sound of the waves, the cool breeze and romantic setting made it perfect. Of course, I said ‘YES’!

We didn’t know each other well when we got married around three months ago. And after three months of trying to get to know one another, we decided to take another vacation to spend some time together. There I was, walking through a market in Bali with him when I suddenly realised that he was not around. I panicked, started crying and thought every possible shit I could.
While I waited, there he came with a smile on his face and a ring in his hand. I was angry and crying and to see him standing there smiling, made it even worse! But that anger didn’t last long as he went down on one knee in the middle of the market and proposed to me. I remember his exact words. He said, “We were strangers when our parents got us married, but now, I’m in love with you. You are already my wife, but will you be my soulmate?” I couldn’t stop smiling after that.
A Staycation To Remember

My boyfriend and I love staycations! Even if it’s within the city, we will take a day off once a month to spoil ourselves at a fancy hotel. We usually check-in together, but that day, I had a family emergency to take care of. I told him that I would join him in the second half of the day. My father wasn’t keeping too well and he needed medical attention. It was only after he started feeling better that mom told me that she would take over. The day was stressful and I wasn’t thinking straight. I was worried about dad and I just needed my boyfriend to hold me and tell me it’s all going to be okay.
I entered our room and as soon as I saw him, I went for a hug. I broke down and couldn’t stop crying. He said nothing, just hugged me tight and pat my back. When I opened my eyes, I saw that the room was lit up with fairy lights. I looked at the table and there was a bouquet of red roses, a stuffed animal and a handwritten note. When I turned to him, I was surprised to see him on one knee, holding a velvet square box with a diamond ring in it. This made all my worries melt away and all that mattered at that time was this special moment. I’ve come to believe that sometimes, the most beautiful miracles take place when you least expect them to. I was happy to have found someone who would love and care for me even during my darkest times. That’s when I realised, he’s a keeper!
