The Best Hair & Makeup Looks From The Met Gala 2023

Fashion’s biggest night out equals lots and lots of beauty inspo. And that’s exactly what this year’s Met Gala was – a treat for sore eyes! It truly was a star-studded night and you best believe I spent the morning scrolling through the gram. While the minimalist in me was admiring Alia’s dewy makeup look and Priyanka’s bronzes skin, there were many more celebrities that caught my eye. From beautiful to outright bizarre, here are my absolute favourite beauty moments from the Met Gala 2023 that will live in my head rent-free.

Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt didn’t abandon her less-is-more approach at the Met. She opted for a sleek, slick-back hairdo; with a subtle, bejewelled bow holding it together at the back. The simplicity of the hair was mirrored in her makeup as well: dewy skin, nude-brown lips, kohl-rimmed eyes, and brushed-out brows exuded soft, princess-ish vibes.

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra’s entire look was feisty! What caught my eye though was not her perfectly bronzed skin, it was her hairstyle. That top knot was nothing like I’ve ever seen before. A 00s-like pouf styled into a bun with a ribbon at the top. A rosy, soft pink flooded the lips as well as the cheeks complete with fluttery lashes.

Rihanna

Rihanna always serves. The singer-cum-entrepreneurs head-to-toe floral ensemble was rebellious but chic. Her makeup was an icy eye paired with a classic RiRi style bold red lip. She topped it off with a pair of white sunglasses that appear to have falsies glued to them.

Jennie Kim

BLACKPINK in your area? More like Jennie at the Met Gala. Jennie brought a touch of K-Beauty to New York. Her makeup look was elegant, yet minimal and complete with a classic blurred-out lip. The delicate floral braids added a soft, feminine charm to the whole look.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish’s affair with all things sultry and seductive burgeoned into something tangible at the Met Gala. While the heavy kohl-rimmed eyes and fishtail-styled braid reflect Billie’s go-to aesthetic, it’s the ombre lips that have all my attention.

Florence Pugh

You’d spot Florence Pugh from miles away at the Met Gala. Talk about making a dramatic entrance, right?! I thought the look was bold and anything but basic. Right from the long feathered hat to the smokey eye, and the nude lip, Pugh was on point!

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway’s voluminous, half-up bouffant was dramatic enough to be a conversation starter. The elegant hairstyle was complete with face-framing loose waves and a sultry, smokey eye with winged liner. The clean skin and the glossy nude lip brought the entire look together.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid’s look was one of the most interesting looks at the Met Gala. The half bun paired with those loose beachy waves and her Coachella-inspired eye makeup is playful yet easy to recreate.

Amanda Seyfried

Mean Girls’ Amanda Seyfried couldn’t look more like Taylor Swift at the Met, and I’m not just referencing her ensemble. The wild, loose curls along with the blood-red lip doing its magic — it all tied together gloriously.

Lily Collins

Lily brought Emily’s Parisian poise to the gala — the sleek bob and fiery-red pout dominating the look. The little curl draped around the forehead softened up the look quite effortlessly.

Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner was glistening from head to toe. Her entire look was Barbie-like. The sky-high ponytail perfectly complimented her chiselled cheekbones and fluttery lashes.

This year’s Met Gala has blessed us with enough fodder for our mood boards. I know I enjoyed every single one of these looks thoroughly. My sleep-deprived self has no complaints.
