A Lesson From Mira Kapoor In Self-Love & Relaxation

Come February and love is in the air. Galentine’s, Valentine’s all have their own place and priorities in life but one thing I believe always comes first is self-love. But I’m not alone in this way of thinking – Mira Kapoor too is an ardent believer of the thought process. Unlike these days, self-love needs to be practiced more often though.

And Mira has an entire self-love ritual figured out that not only calms and soothes her but also gives her that enviable glow!

Mira Kapoor’s Favourite Self-Love Rituals

Gua Sha

A true beauty fanatic, the mother-of-two calls Gua Sha her “absolute indulgence” as she practices it in the night once her kids have gone to bed and she’s watching her favourite show. “I do feel the de-stressing and de-puffing that happens at that time and I’m also absolutely chilling with my TV,” she said in a YouTube video.

PSA, always use a facial oil or serum before using a Gua Sha so the process is smoother and the massaging process doesn’t break your skin.

Glazed Donut What?

Sure, glazed donut is a trend we’ve all got around to. Shiny, almost poreless skin with a porcelain-like finish is something we wish to attain. But that’s not the glazed donut Mira’s a fan of. “I love glazed donut skincare for my feet,” Mira said continuing that she loves pampering her feet with cuticle oil, ghee on the soles of her feet, sesame oil on the rest of it, and stimulating points on the ankle. The Kansa wand is her favourite tool to massage her feet well and to top it off, she covers her feet with fuzzy socks to let them absorb all the oils.

Using only kitchen ingredients, Mira manages to get that other-worldly glow! She first applies a lemon to her skin, followed by chopped tomatoes and then layers of milk. As part of the au-naturale process, she then applies a simple ubtan face pack, washes it off and then massages her skin with some aloe vera gel to soothe and nourish it calling it a “Desi kitchen version of a cold towel.”

A Puzzle!

Its not always about beauty for Mira! “For me, a puzzle is like self-care,” she gushes. Puzzles help keep the mind active and continue to stimulate it. “A sort of replenishment of your own self,” is how Mira describes her last indulgence that’s equally invigorating as a Gua Sha session!
