Last Minute Makeup Looks For Valentine’s Day That Are Easy & Effortlessly Chic

I have at least three different outfits, no new hairstyle inspiration and my nails have not seen a filer in ages. My plan is to take a long, steamy-everything shower and sit in front of my mirror with all of my makeup to experiment with a few new looks.

I always work better with a reference and while it may only be February, there are a lot of great looks that have already been flooding my feed. So here are a few looks for some soulful inspiration, because who said a red lip has to be your Valentine’s Day default.

Makeup Inspiration

For makeup inspiration that complements this vibe, think about looks that are both romantic and unexpected, steering away from the traditional. Here are a few ideas.

Kohl-lined eyes and a natural pink flush sound basic but always serve. It adds depth to your eyes without overwhelming them, perfect for a romantic evening.

Soft disco glam is another great option if you have big plans at a karaoke or Valentine’s Day party. A little bit of glitter on your waterline can make a world of difference. Pair it with a pink-red lip and you’re ready to disco!

The sugar plum fairy look went viral for a reason. It’s easy to recreate, goes with almost every occasion, and makes your skin look so fresh – you can skip the bouquet. Choose a cream blush for a natural flush and pair it with a tinted lip balm or gloss for that soft, kissable lip.

I know everyone expects a red lip on Valentine’s Day and it’s a little predictable, but you can never go wrong with one – especially if your outfit is a little casual.

Last, one look that’s really easy but completely changes up the vibe of your fit is faux freckles. Doesn’t always work and does require a little patience, but once you’ve got them down – they’ll totally elevate your Valentine’s night.

Hair Inspiration

Whether you’re aiming for an effortlessly chic look or something more elaborately styled, the right hairstyle can elevate your entire ensemble. 2024 is the year of hair and accessories, so here are a few looks you can use as your muse.

Bows have been trending and for good reason. These hair accessories can elegantly secure a half-up, half-down style or gracefully top off a soft, low bun, perfectly complementing your Valentine’s Day outfit.

Straightening your hair, especially if it’s usually curly is also an idea you can consider. As someone with curly hair, I tend to get so many more compliments when my hair is straight!

Have you heard of hair tinsel? These hairstyles have been one of my absolute favourite trends of 2023 and I’m glad we’re taking this campy accessory into 2024.
