There is no doubt about the fact that Taapsee Pannu has made her mark in Bollywood. With a number of critically acclaimed movies to her credit, she has proved time and again that she is an actor worthy of spending precious three hours on.
We’ve also been taking notes of the actor’s fashion game since quite some time now. Taapsee aced the tricky Indo-western combination during Manmarziyaan promotions. And we also saw some fabulous red carpet looks on her! The actress, at the moment, is busy with promotions for her upcoming movie, Mission Mangal, which is being touted as India’s first space film.
Directed by Jagan Shakti, the film boasts a powerful star cast including Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menon, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharman Joshi and Akshay Kumar. While the movie is scheduled to release on August 15 this year, the makers dropped the trailer yesterday. And we saw a sea of sarees at trailer’s launch! Everyone from Vidya, Kirti, Nithya to Sonakshi wore graceful sarees. But, Taapsee chose to wear something else. And we couldn’t help but wonder about why she made that choice. Well, to us, it looks like Taapsee is trying to rock two trends at a time–#SareeTwitter and #SuitTwitter. Probably, that’s why she wore this outfit that’s a cross between a pantsuit and a saree.
The flowy overskirt and the cowl added to this all-white outfit (by STARCH The Label) in our view, isn’t feeling right. However, we love the choker necklace she paired with her outfit. Her soft pinkish nude makeup was done by celebrity makeup artist and hairstylist, Saniya Shadabpuri. And, we have to say, it looks oh-so-chic!
Taapsee’s slicked-back ponytail, created by hairstylist Amit Thakur, is inspiring us to try out the look for our next big meeting. The hair, makeup, and jewellery sure win all the brownie points!
Meanwhile, the audience is quite impressed with Mission Mangal’s teaser. The movie plot revolves around scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation who contributed to the Mars Orbiter Mission. Taapsee is also busy working on Game Over, a Tamil-Telugu thriller. In the movie she plays a video game programmer, is shown suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). After Game Over, she will begin the shoot for Thappad with Anubhav Sinha and then a supernatural, sci-fi thriller with Anurag Kashyap.
Phew! She sure has a busy schedule ahead. Well, we can’t wait to see her shine in Mission Mangal!
