The Indian couturier, with his exceptional craftsmanship and exquisite creations, has caught the attention of fashion enthusiasts worldwide. From gracing international runways with stunning sarees and lehengas to dressing international icons like Zendya and Gigi Hadid, he’s creating ripples in the global fashion scene. Even international pop sensation and actress Selena Gomez couldn’t escape his magic.
The singer made a head-turning statement at a recent Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Rare Impact Fund event that was hosted in Los Angeles. She wore an exquisite custom embroidered ‘Iris’ dress in Amethyst purple by Rahul Mishra Couture and looked oh-so-fab!
The look aims to imitate the petals of an Iris flower through intricate hand embroidery. The design originates in the Couture Fall 2023 collection, ‘We, The People’ which is an ode to fashion workers. But the best bit? It features a motif of the designer’s tailor, Munir Ahmed, who has been part of his team for over a decade now. The dress also features 18 petals embellished with resham and chenille thread, sequins, glass beads, bugle beads, badla, and silver zari.
While the dress is utterly gorgeous in itself, I love how Selena added a pair of statement earrings and silver heels, that perfectly complement the exquisite detailing and work on her dress.
