You know what they say about weddings—you gotta start planning months in advance for it all to come together eventually. Even with a great planner on board, choosing a theme, picking out the flowers, deciding the decor and other zillion details could be a time-consuming affair.
We know that pandemic weddings are more intimate compared to big fat Indian weddings but even so, it would take you at least three months to plan the most special day of your lives. Or that’s what we thought, but turns out you can plan a wedding in just a day. Yes, really!
We’re talking about a B-town celeb wedding that was planned in just one single day. Any guesses? It’s none other than Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar’s wedding. Confused how it could possibly be true? Well, it turns out it is true as the actor’s wedding planner has revealed details of the two-day wedding ceremony.
Yami’s planner, Gitesh, said that he was contacted by the actress’s father only a day before the festivities were to begin. We can imagine what a surprise that must’ve been for him! He said, “Yami’s father contacted us a day before their wedding ceremonies (sangeet and mehndi) began. The Gautams brought their own family pandit from Bilaspur or Hamirpur for the rituals.”
Gitesh also shared details of Yami and Aditya’s intimate outdoor wedding. He said, “They were clear that they didn’t want a larger-than-life, glamorous wedding. Instead, they wanted the ceremonies to be conducted in a natural and traditional way, as it happens in their hometowns.”
He also added that the beautiful couple got married in front of a deodar tree or more commonly known as the Himalayan cedar. “The mandap was decorated with marigold flowers and banana leaves, with a gold-and-white theme running across the décor. After the wedding, there was a small reception in the evening with family members. The mehndi was held in the courtyard,” added Gitesh. He even mentioned that the wedding was followed by a traditional lunch of Mandi dham. Sounds like the perfect wedding, right?
Kudos to Yami and Aditya for keeping it simple, real and fresh. Such a welcome change from all the bling and OTT functions, no? Well, we’re all for this trend and hope that more people follow in their footsteps.
