What Makes Sex In A Hotel Room So, SO Hot?

The last time I was in a hotel room with a boyfriend, it was a few years ago. We were in a long-distance relationship and he’d come to visit me for just one night. After telling my parents that I was sleeping over at a friend’s, we got ourselves a room at a hotel miles away from my home. Checking in to the hotel was a task as they ask for your identification and both of us were a couple of scared 23-year olds. But once it was all done and we were in the room, there was a weird sexual energy that engulfed us and neither could think about anything other than stripping it down and having crazy, passionate, toe-curling sex.

But tell me, isn’t that the case with most of us? Doesn’t the thought of hotel or vacation sex drive you a little crazy with desire? Maybe it’s the change of location or the thrill of indulging in uninhibited sexual fantasies, but there is something undeniably exhilarating about it.

For most of us, it’s easy to get stuck in a sexual rut if we’re in a committed, long-term relationship. While there is no denying that sex is one of the best things to happen to mankind, in our daily lives, other things like your work and responsibilities suddenly take precedence. Sex ends up being a little monotonous and routine, something you do because you want to but don’t have the time or the energy for it.

But that’s the thing about hotel sex. As soon as you enter the room, you leave behind your worries, your stress and all things annoying to enjoy a break from real life and each other. Even according to a psychologist at the York University,  “Vacations can provide opportunities for couples to self-expand ― engage in novel, exciting activities… This can promote sexual desire, sexual activity and sexual and relationship satisfaction.”

But what if you want to replicate this magic and attraction back at home to keep sex from being boring and dreary? Well, obviously, you don’t necessarily need a vacation or a hotel room to ‘self-expand’. This can be done at home as well. Taking a class together (dance class recommended because dancing together adds a certain spark as well), indulging in a quickie or something simple as tying each other in the bedroom can do the trick. It’s all about re-igniting that certain spark, that sense of adventure, you felt at the start of the relationship.

There is no mathematical equation to what makes sex in a hotel room more exciting. It’s only about two people leaving your inhibitions and worries behind, something that can be successfully done at your own home, in your own bedroom with a little bit of effort. Simple, right?
