The novel coronavirus has hit us hard and with no definitive cure in sight, all we can do to keep ourselves safe from the scrouge is to take preventive measures and not step out unless necessary. And boosting your immunity to fight the virus appears to be the best cure available so far. During this unprecedented time, all of us may have at least once Googled, “how to boost your immunity”. I, for one, can say that I have spent days reading about boosting immunity. And what if I tell you that something pleasurable and exciting can help boost your metabolism and strengthen your immune system?
You guessed it! Sex is that one thing that will help you stay active and healthy during this time. So all of you who are cooped up at home with a partner, stop complaining. ‘Coz you’re lucky! While sex reduces stress and cures your headaches, it is also good for your immune system too!
Research conducted at a university in Pennsylvania showed that students who had sex once or twice a week had higher levels of antibodies as compared to the students who had less sex. Along with this, students were sleeping on time, eating healthy and exercising every alternate day.
Stress is one of the main reasons one can fall sick often. More sex reduces the level of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. Having sex releases endorphins, which are neurochemicals that trigger the positive feeling in the body and reduce the stress level.
If you’re in for a rough ride, you know you’re going to be all sweaty by the end of it. The more experimental you are, the more calories you burn. Having regular sex will help you release a lot of toxins from your body which boosts your metabolism, creating a better immune system. It all fits, right?
After a long session of burning out calories and feeling relaxed, we all need a good sleep. It makes you feel happy and content, which helps you in getting back to a good sleeping pattern.
If you’re someone who is regularly having sex, you should know that you have a happy heart. Sex is a form of exercise that helps strengthen your heart and lower your blood pressure. The constant pumping of blood flow in your heart reduces the risk of getting a heart attack.
