Rosesh Sarabhai Of ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’ Fame Tests Positive For COVID-19

Ever since the pandemic came into our lives, there has not been a single day when we didn’t talk about the novel coronavirus. Even though certain restrictions have been lifted and people are slowly resuming their day to day activities, the case count is still on a rapid rise. We don’t need more proof that the pandemic isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Until then, there’s not much to do apart from embracing this new normal.

As people get back to their routines, shoots for many TV shows have also resumed. And even after precautionary measures being followed on sets, quite a few TV actors have tested positive for COVID-19. Proof that this virus spares no one. Stepping out is still risky, and going lax on precautions is something that we just can’t afford. Recently, seven cast and crew members of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai tested positive for COVID-19. Earlier today, TV actor Rajesh Kumar aka Rosesh Sarabhai from Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai also tested positive.

According to reports, Rajesh had been shooting as the male lead for Sanjay Kohli’s new show Excuse Me Madam. Rajesh recently spoke to a leading media daily and revealed that he is asymptomatic and is under home quarantine.

“I never had any of the common symptoms and didn’t even realise something was wrong till the time I started feeling lethargic. The first bout happened on August 20 and when it happened again the next day I decided to see a doctor. Slowly I lost my sense of taste and smell. It was on August 22 that I got my rapid test done and it came positive. Since then I’ve been in home isolation. I have been exercising and doing yoga daily. Things are fine just that at times my body requires rest,” said Rajesh. After he tested positive, his family also went for the test and the results came out to be negative.

According to reports, he may have contracted the virus when he participated in Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Rajesh’s residence and the nearby area have been sanitised by the authorities and the neighbours have been informed to take precautions. The cast and crew of Excuse Me Madam are also going to be extra cautious and those who have come in close contact with Rajesh will self-quarantine themselves for the next two weeks.

Rajesh is checking his oxygen levels and temperature on a regular basis and is trying to stay calm. “Waise jab tak Corona nahi hota hai aapko tension hai, aur jab aapko hota hai to padosi so nahi paate,” he said jokingly.

Explaining about his CT points that evaluate if an asymptomatic COVID patient can spread the virus, he said, “If your points come between 25 and 32 then you aren’t a spreader, mine is 27-28. But if your points are below 24 then you’re a super spreader and must take extra precautions.”

Earlier, in an interview, Rajesh spoke about the precautions that were being taken on the sets of Excuse Me Madam. “Our production house and the makers are leaving no stones unturned when it comes to precautions and safety of the cast and crew. They are following all the protocols with regular temperature and oxygen levels checks,” he said.

Rajesh will soon get another test done and if that comes out negative, he will resume shooting. We wish him speedy recovery.
