After seeing Tejasswi Prakash and Karan Kundrra fighting for weeks, last night’s BB 15 episode turned out to be a literal treat for #TejRan fans. We saw their families connecting with them on video calls and giving their approval to the couple. While Karan’s dad happily declared that ‘Tejasswi is the heart of the family now, the actress’s brother shared that the entire family supports her choice. It was wholesome, to say the least, and Tejasswi and Karan’s smiles said it all.
So here’s the thing–last night’s BB episode actually left us with a lot to process in terms of how we navigate and react to romantic relationships in a desi family. We are thoroughly impressed with how Karan and Tejasswi’s families reacted to their choices and think that they can teach every desi family a thing or two. Read on.
Accept Our Choices
Since the beginning of their relationship in the Bigg Boss house, #TejRan have been anxious about how their families will react to it. They have talked about it time and again and last night we could literally see the weight lifting off their shoulders. Now, here’s a question–why do we have to constantly worry about our parents approving of our choices? As adults, we should get to make our own choices as well as mistakes and learn from them?
In Karan and Tejasswi’s case, we have all seen them have their share of ups and downs and some really intense fights. However, their families kept all of that aside last night as they accepted the couple without hesitating even for a moment.
Respect The People We Are With
In Bigg Boss 14, Jasmin Bhasin’s parents were seen disapproving of Aly Goni while he sat there and saw all of it happening live. The couple is still together which makes us wonder if it all that was really necessary. Don’t get us wrong here. We don’t have anything against Jasmin’s parents. In fact, what they did is considered absolutely normal Indian families and it is the system that we have a problem with.
We have seen even Teja’s brother, Pratik getting into a war of words with Karan’s family in the past. However, he never took it out on the actor. Even yesterday, he was warm with Karan and talked to him with utmost respect and love which, by the way, is the bare minimum. Why is it so difficult for our families to understand the same?
Here’s hoping that last night’s Bigg Boss episode inspires Indian families to accept our choices and respect our partners. That is not too much to ask for, right?
