It is kinda ironic to see Salman Khan lecture Bigg Boss contestants season after season on good conduct when rumours keep doing rounds about his own toxicity. We have all heard tales of him lashing out at Aishwarya Rai on movie sets and trying to barge into her apartment in an inebriated state. But she is not the only actress that Salman has had a tumultuous relationship with. Before Aish, Salman dated Pakistani-American origin actress, Somy Ali for almost a decade in the 90s!
Somy left India after her break-up with Salman Khana in the late 90s and has been running an NGO now. In the past, she has talked about her toxic relationship with the actor and just revisited the topic with a long, cryptic post on Instagram.
Somy wrote, “I will be told to take down posts. I will be questioned of my sanity. I will be gossiped about having a drinking problem (the irony) yet I will go on because you have not gone through all that humiliation, & every form of torture and abuse while no one sided with you because your abuser’s a huge star and you are friends with him. He can make or break your career. You believed your friends and assumed would take a stand for you and knew everything because you literally told them and they witnessed it many a times.”
In her post, Somy also hinted at attempts to shut her up and declared that no one can stop her from stating her truth. She also shared a message for her ex’s fans who have been trolling her on social media and wrote that she doesn’t give any heed to any of these hateful messages.

Somy & Salman’s Tumultuous Past
In December 2022, Somy referred to Salman as the “Harvey Weinstein of Bollywood” and even called him a “male chauvinist pig” in a social media post. She also accused the actor of abusing her. However, she later deleted the post.
Later in an interview with a leading daily, Somy opened up about her eight-year-long relationship with the Bollywood star. “The eight years spent with him were the worst years of my existence. In addition to tonnes of affairs and flings, he would constantly belittle me by calling me ugly, stupid, and dumb. Not a day passed that he wouldn’t make me feel worthless and small,” she shared during the interview.
Somy also claimed that Salman didn’t acknowledge her as his girlfriend for a long time which pushed her into seeking attention from other men and cheating on him. She added, “When Salman learned of these affairs, he had the guts to after beating me, saying that I am a man and only men can cheat, not women. I was aghast at that statement and the sexism that reeked from it. Let’s not forget that just because Salman or anyone else is nice to you, they are the same as others. I had it the worst in terms of verbal, sexual, and physical abuse.”
This is really heartbreaking to hear and Salman owes all of us an explanation. That’s the least he can do after all that Somy has claimed about their dark past!
