Everything Shahid Kapoor is saying seems to be backfiring lately. Just recently, he was brutally (and rightfully) called out for his remarks on how marriage is all about women fixing messed-up men. Guess what? The actor has yet again found himself in the eye of the storm.
In a recent interview, Shahid talked about what he and Alia Bhatt would do if they were to meet. The Jersey actor replied, “Alia is the inquisitive one, so I guess she will be asking the questions. We met recently and it’s great to hang with her. Now she’s a mother, I can’t believe she’s a mother. When I had worked with her, she was 21. Sometimes, when you spend a lot of time with somebody and then you’ve not met, you still feel they are that only. Like you don’t feel so much has happened to them.”
Shahid is now getting trolled for the statement. People on Reddit are pointing out that his wife was 21 when she had their first baby and yet he is surprised by Alia having a baby at 29. “Wasn’t his wife actually 21 when they had a child? Weird that he thinks it’s too young,” a Reddit user has written. Another one adds, “Pls make him stop talking.. geez.”
Meanwhile, some fans are defending Shahid and calling out trolls for creating a mountain out of a molehill. A fan on Reddit has supported him by writing, “Maybe some people need to work on their comphrehension skills if they find what he is saying problematic..like seriously…it isn’t about age it’s not time…people change with time but sometimes we think that other people are same as before (which doesn’t happen).”
While Shahid might have made the comment in good spirits, there is definitely a need for him to use a filter. He has been making a lot of short-sighted statements and it would be nice if his PR team puts a check on the actor. Much needed!
