Runway-Approved Eyeshadow Looks That Will Breathe New Energy Into Your Instagram Selfies

Since we’re still in the middle of an ongoing pandemic, you know what that means? Skipping the base makeup, OD’ing on eye makeup & dressing up for zoom parties and the ‘gram. Along with a stylish outfit, you will also need a glam AF makeup look and lucky for you, we’ve got a couple of eye makeup looks that are hella chic. Whether you’re the type of girl who loves all things dramatic and edgy or you’re someone who loves keeping it classy and simple, keep on scrolling, ‘coz you’re sure to find a look that will effortlessly match your style.

So, grab your makeup bag and brushes, it’s time to level up your eye game with these eyeshadow techniques— some of which are SS/21 fashion week approved.

Eyeshadow Looks To Try This Weekend

Wondering why you need to add these eyeshadow looks to your weekend to-do list? Well, they make you look good on camera…and with a face mask on!

Gloss-It Up

While it’s not advisable to wear lipgloss under your face mask, you can, however, add it to your lids instead. Glossy lids are in, and they are oh-so-easy to achieve. You could opt for bold, dramatic colours or go for a clear gloss, either way, it’s bound to make your eyes look brighter on camera or in person. Just swipe the gloss on your eyelids, and you’re good to go!

Watermelon Under Eyes

Last month it was all about Harry Style’s Watermelon Sugar High and this month, at the Milan S/S 21 Fashion show, it was all about Watermelon Under eyes. Blumarine showed us a more vibrant way to hide puffy eyes and dark circles— the secret is, with pink eyeshadow. If you want to recreate a high fashion look, take a page from the Blumarine Spring/Summer21 show and sweep a fuchsia hue along the lower lashes. But don’t stop there! Once you’re done, drag it upward, towards the temples and along your upper lash line as well to create this marvellous masterpiece. With this eyeshadow technique, you’re sure to look like you just walked off the runway.

Opt For The Halo

When in doubt, the Halo eyeshadow look never fails. This bold, edgy look has been around for years now, and it doesn’t seem like it’s going anywhere, anytime soon. The use of bright, shimmery colours on the centre of the lids and darker shades on the inner and outer corners instantly brightens up the eyes, makes them look bigger and creates a fierce, dramatic look fit for the catwalk. This look is bound to steal the show, especially with a face mask on.

Blue Covered Lids

At the Zero + Maria Cornejo fashion show, it was all about embracing Pantone’s colour of the year. Models walked around with vinyl cobalt-painted eyelids which were deliberately imperfectly applied in order to give it that scribble-like effect. Those who are looking for a bold, head-turning makeup look, this one is just for you.

Upgraded Floating Crease

By now, we are all aware of the floating liner makeup look thanks to Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga’s ‘Rain on Me’ music video, but models at the Siriano show took this eye makeup look to a whole new level. If you want to look #RunwayReady, go on and create your regular floating graphic liner but instead of leaving it at just that, colour within the lines, using a bright, bold eyeshadow hue.

The Subtle Smokey Eye

Smokey eyes no longer consist of painting your lids with dark colours, now it’s all about making a statement with the help of subtle hues. If you’re looking to create a smokey eye look that gives off a subdued and romantic vibe, use shades like pinks, nudes, and beige to create a soft, smokey effect. Best of all, this smokey eye is even perfect for your Zoom meetings.

What are you waiting for? Grab your eyeshadow palette and makeup brushes and start blending.
