This Popular Eye Makeup Trend Just Got A 2020-Approved Makeover

We’re currently in the sixth month of self-isolation and masks have turned out to be the fashion accessories of the year. Since lipsticks have pretty much been canceled for the rest of 2020, we thought you should be paying more attention to eye makeup and let that be the star next time you’ve to step out of the house. While the classic smokey eye will always be everyone’s fav, don’t you think it’s a bit been there, done that?

Well, if you want to experiment with another trend that’s been doing the rounds for some time now, it’s the halo eyes. It’s a technique that calls for applying darker shades on the inner and outer corners of the lid and then packing a lighter, shimmery shade in the center.

While the halo eye trend earlier was patented with meticulously carved out lids using contrasting shadows, the 2020 take on the trend is more laid back and wearable. It’s easier to achieve and actually super versatile.

So, next time you’ve had a late-night Netflix binge, and need some help in looking awake during a Zoom meeting, try this trend out for an instant eye-brightening effect.

Step 2: Start with a neutral pink eyeshadow in the crease and then deepen it with a poppy colour.

Step 3: Use a light, cool-toned eyeshadow like a mauve in the inner corner and outer corner and blend it out sightly leaving the centre part of the lid bare.

Step 4: Use a deeper greyish eyeshadow to enhance the colour and use windscreen wiper motions to blend it out.

Step 5: On a flat eyeshadow brush, take some concealer and place it on the centre of your lid and pack on a neutral colour to set it in place. Blend it all together to make it look seamless.
