Priyanka Chopra has been sharing parts of her life story with us since her memoir, Unfinished, was announced. Now, just after the launch of the book, the Bollywood-turned-Hollywood queen has shared some interesting details about her whirlwind romance with her now-husband Nick Jonas. The Quantico actress revealed that she found it a little ‘strange’ when Nick took her mother, Dr Madhu Chopra, out for lunch alone, when the couple had been together for just a few weeks.
During her appearance on The Morning Show to promote her book, the actress shared that she was busy with a meeting when Nick met her mother. Priyanka said that she was ‘curious’ about it which resulted in her playing detective. The actor-author revealed that in order to do a little snooping of her own, she sent her security to tail Nick and her mom and click pictures!
“For people who do know me, I have a little bit of a control issue. I like to control the circumstances around me. I was very curious. I had a meeting. I was like, ‘Babe, what are you going to do? I have a meeting.’ He says, ‘Don’t worry about me. I am in Mumbai. I am going to take your mom out for lunch.’ That was just so strange to me because this was like a couple of weeks of us dating and my mom and him alone, you know. So I sent my security to take pictures so that I could study their body language,” said Priyanka.

In yet another revelation, while speaking to an international website, the actress lovingly called Nick ‘Old Man Jonas’. She went on to share the reason behind the statement and said that her hubby and our beloved national jiju is pretty old fashioned. “Oh you know, Nick smokes cigars, plays golf, he’s very refined. The most millennial thing I’ve ever seen him do is drink a Coors Light and watch a football game,” said PC.
Priyanka started dating American singer Nick Jonas in May 2018. In fact, the singer met PC’s family within a month of their first date and then went on to propose to her in July 2018. The couple officially announced their engagement in August the same year. In December 2018, Priyanka and Nick tied the knot at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur in both Hindu and Christian ceremonies, following which the actress legally changed her name to Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
On the work front, PC will be seen in the romantic drama Text for You and the fourth installation of the American science fiction action film Matrix. The actress is currently in London and shooting for Amazon Prime Video series Citadel. Nick and Priyanka will also join forces to produce an Amazon special reality show inspired by their sangeet ceremony which will follow engaged couples as they prepare for a grand sangeet. PC was last seen in the critically acclaimed American Indian drama film The White Tiger alongside Rajkummar Rao.
