Neha Bhasin’s Bigg Boss OTT journey finally came to an end last night with a surprise mid-night eviction. However, before leaving the house she got an opportunity to address all the allegations and comments that have been made on her all this while. During the media round, when asked about all the slut-shaming that she has been subjected to in the house, Neha replied that it was all coming from a very sexist place.
“Not only have I been made to feel a certain way about my connection with Pratik but also that whatever I have said on the show is just my feeling but now it’s becoming clear that things have been said (by others). When that autorickshaw task happened, that’s when I got the angriest because… let me tell you, these kind of things about me have not only been said in the house but also outside in the society. It’s a sensitive thing for me because when a woman in a beautiful country like India wears… you know there are issues…,” she said.
While speaking on the topic, Neha also highlighted the double standards that have been shown by the housemates while judging her and Pratik. Earlier in the season, when Pratik and Neha left their respective connections to be with each other in the show, while the latter received a lot of hate for it, Pratik was conveniently forgiven by everyone.
She further added, “We call it a ‘woman card’ but at the end of the day… When he (pointing to Pratik sitting next to her) roams shirtless no one asks him but questions have been raised at me. People know that. Most importantly, maybe if I were a man, those questions would not have been raised. The only sad part is you want to raise questions do that but have the guts to do that to my face and be prepared for the answer.”
Whatever Neha has said about the blatant sexism and misogyny in the Bigg Boss house actually makes a lot of sense. That said, this is not the first time we have seen something like this happening in the BB house. We are glad that Neha got to call out everyone who slut-shamed her right before her exit. As for winning, while she might not get the trophy, she has surely won some great friends. Here’s hoping that she maintains her bindass attitude outside the house as well.
