Angry & Disgusted: Woman Tweets Chilling Details Of Being Flashed By A Man In Delhi Metro

India is no country for women. Every single day, headlines in newspaper detail horrific incidents of eve-teasing, molestation, rape and sexual harassment. You’d think public transport would be a relatively safe space for women, but unfortunately, a recent incident will make you question that statement. On Wednesday, a woman took to social media to share a chilling incident of a stranger flashing his penis at her while she was travelling by Delhi Metro

Rashmi Singh Rana took to Twitter to share her ordeal, explaining how she was totally ‘numbed by the incident’. The woman, who was travelling on the yellow line towards Gurugram on February 12, claimed that the man’s penis was out of his pants and was pointed at her.

The Gurugram resident went on to recall how the man stood unaffected while she froze and stood with her eyes glued to the floor. She then managed to muster up the courage to snap a picture of the man as proof. Detailing the incident on Twitter, she wrote, ‘I don’t recall taking this pic and I can’t recall the station we were around. The picture details say it was taken at 6:11 pm and the location marked is’ Sultanpur water treatment plant’.

This isn’t the first time a woman has been harassed in the public space, and till the government takes extreme steps to curb crimes against women in India, it unfortunately won’t be the last. I’ve been living in Delhi my whole life and often use Delhi Metro to commute to my office. It is so disheartening to know that there is still a long way to go as far as women’s safety in India is concerned. We hope that the pervert in question is put behind bars ASAP.
