Vinegar is not only a kitchen staple, but also helps fight feet odour. When you submerge your feet into a tub of vinegar it creates an acidic environment which is not conducive to the bacteria.
Step 1 – Add half a cup of vinegar to a bowl of hot water.
Step 2 – Dip your feet into the bowl, and soak it for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 3 – Gently remove your feet from the bowl, wash it well with soap and wipe dry.
Tip – If you want to further protect your feet from sweat and bacteria, we suggest you also give this foot spray a shot!
When it comes to getting rid of foot odour, baking soda does a fabulous job. It kills bacteria, removes dead skin cells, and softens the texture of the skin on your feet. To leave a sweet and fresh smell behind, you can also add lemon juice to the mixture.
Step 1 – Pour ¼ cup of baking soda into a foot bowl that contains hot water.
Step 2 – Wait till the baking soda dissolves into the water, and pour a tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Step 3 – Dip your feet into the bowl and keep it soaked in for 15-20 minutes.
Step 4 – Gently remove your feet and pat dry using a towel.
Tip – When buying new shoes, comfort should be your first priority. It saves your feet from nasty shoe bites, blisters and scars.
Tannic acid in black tea is responsible for getting rid of feet odour. It kills bacteria, and creates a clean atmosphere for your feet to breath.
Step 1 – Pour four cups of boiling hot water into a foot bowl/basin.
Step 2 – Gently drop 4-5 bags of black tea into the bowl, leave in there for 10 minutes.
Step 3 – Soak your feet there for 20 minutes.
Step 4 – Remove your feet from the hot mix, scrub it with liquid soap and wash it off with cold water.
Lavender oil has a pleasant scent to it that helps calm nerves down and keeps stress at bay. Surprisingly it’s also a miracle worker when it comes to treating your feet and dealing with feet odour.
Step 1 – In a bowl of lukewarm water, pour a few drops of lavender oil.
Step 2 – Dip your feet into the water, and let it soak in there for 15 to 20 minutes.
Step 3 – After removing your feet, pat dry, and apply cold cream to moisturize it.
Tip – The skin on your feet tends to get dry and rough after a period of time. That’s why you need to give them a good soak at least twice a week. After soaking them, make it a point to apply foot cream or petroleum jelly to make the skin smooth and soft.
Epsom salt is famous for fighting feet bacteria and doing away with foot odour. If you want to detox or cure aching feet, this is an ingredient you must get your hands on.
Step 1 – Into a bucket of lukewarm water, drop two teaspoons of of Epsom salt.
Step 2 – Dip your feet and let it soak in the mix for a good 10-15 minutes.
Step 3 – Pat dry, put on cottons socks and wear them for a few hours.
Tip – Since sweat, bacteria and dirt build up in your shoes during the day, it becomes important to remove them once you’re home. Give your feet a chance to breathe and relax.
