Indian Musician Ricky Kej Bagged His Third Grammy
Bengaluru-based music composer Ricky Kej registered his third Grammy win by bagging the award for the Best Immersive Audio Album for his recent nine-track record Divine Tides. The record was a collaborative effort between Ricky and the rock legend Stewart Copeland. The man created history by becoming the first Indian to have won three of these coveted gramophone trophies. Cardi B Dazzled In A Gaurav Gupta Number
American rapping sensation Cardi B rocked a blue sculptural gown by Indian designer Gaurav Gupta. I have to say, I Like It! Correction: I love it!
Queen Bey Became The Official Queen Of The Grammys
Beyoncé won four Grammys including the award for the best dance/electronic album for her euphoric dance opus, Renaissance. With 32 Grammys to her credit now, she has become the artist with the most Grammys.
Kim Petras’s Dramatic Entrance & Historic Win
German singer and songwriter Kim Petras made history by becoming the first trans woman to win the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance Grammy for her song Unholy with Sam Smith. The duo was accompanied by drag queens Violet Chachki and Gottmik on the red carpet and created a dramatic all-red moment.
Harry Styles’ Sparkling Jumpsuits & Surprising Win
Harry Styles made heads turn in a glittery rainbow jumpsuit and white-heeled boots on the red carpet. His shiny jumpsuit magic continued even on stage as he changed into a sequinned one-piece during his performance. But music fans were more surprised by his Grammy win than his OTT style. The singer beat Beyonce and bagged the Album of the Year award for his smashing hit Harry’s House.

Adele’s dream to meet Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock came true when host Trevor Noah introduced the two stars during the event. She was excited as a child about meeting the star and the moment has been going viral on social media.

Grammys celebrated the forthcoming 50th anniversary of hip hop. The performance featured a medley of over two dozen songs from across five decades and was curated by Questlove of the Roots. The who’s who of the hip-hop world including Busta Rhymes, Queen Latifah, Big Boi of Outkast, and Missy Elliott were a part of this performance.
The 65th Annual Grammy Awards proved to be an entertaining affair and I can’t wait to see what happens next year.
