Shut Up & Take My Money: 6 Must-Have Skincare Brands Worth Breaking The Bank For!

The emphasis on skincare has never been more strong, especially now that we have all the time in the world. Whether it’s via DIY face masks or extravagant facial serums or sheet masks that promise some much-needed TLC in minutes, everyone is paying close attention to their skin and it’s about time.

As I say this, I can’t help but wonder: How do you choose a skincare product? Does it come highly recommended by your fave beauty bloggers or brand ambassadors? Or the fact that the internet is filled with rave reviews is your driving force? Needless to say, everybody has their own version of the “best”. And here’s ours! Read on if you want to know all about the skincare brands we swear by and our favourite picks for great skin.

Best Skincare Brands We Trust

When it comes to choosing skincare products, we are spoilt for choice. There are so many brands to try out! Some are bougie AF (like Clé de Peau or Dior skincare), some are super affordable (The Ordinary or Pixi Beauty, for instance), and some are just difficult to pronounce (such as L’Occitane or La Roche-Posay). Everywhere you look, there’s a new skincare brand or product popping that claims to make your skin so much better than ever. After thorough research, we have shortlisted six skincare brands that need to be on your radar. Here’s why:

The Ordinary

Ever since TikTok came into our lives (and got banned LOL), the way we perceive information has changed. I don’t remember the last time I opened up YouTube to check out a product review. A quick hashtag search on the app gave me thousands of 15-second videos to choose from. Not only that, but there’s also a plethora of ‘Yes and no’ videos on the platform where people (even dermatologists) vote on products.

One such brand that has got everyone singing its praises is The Ordinary. All of The Ordinary’s skincare products have suddenly become so trending across social media platforms that it has become almost impossible to get your hands on them as they’re always sold out. Their AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution has got everyone talking as it has become a skincare hero addressing issues of acne, acne scars, and really bad skin. Check it out!

There’s no doubt that everyone wants to have skin like Huda (Flawless) Kattan. But it’s so refreshing to see that the beauty mogul doesn’t really have flawless skin and, in fact, often talks in detail about her skin woes, especially adult acne. After following Huda for a really long time, I know that her skin has improved tremendously and everyone wants to know her secret. Guess what, it’s her own (lesser-known) skincare brand, WISHFUL!

Huda revealed that the secret behind her newfound glow and reduction in acne and acne scars is none other than her Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub. Unlike other scrubs, she claims that you can actually see the dead skin removed from your face, with a super soft after-effect. If you’re looking for a facial scrub that ain’t too gritty but will remove dead skin and take on acne gently, you have to try this! P.S. Huda also uses this to exfoliate her lips. Some multifunctional product!

If you’re always on a lookout for new and exciting products but on a budget, let us introduce you to MyGlamm. MyGlamm’s GLOW Collection features a vast range of iridescent brightening skincare products that are for everyone, literally. The products are not only pretty to use (hello, Insta aesthetics!) but also perfect for everyone who has got glow on their mind. The packaging is so luxe, we bet you’re going to get addicted as soon as you try even one of their products! Including a foam cleanser, moisturizer, toner, body lotion and sheet mask, if your middle name is ‘extra’, this range will help you get the glowing skin of your dreams!

Glow Recipe

Internet’s favourite Watermelon Sleeping Mask by Glow Recipe needs no introduction. Ever since this Korean brand was introduced, it has been getting nothing but demand from beauty junkies across the globe. Their fruit-infused skincare products are cult favourites and judging by the fact that everyone owns (and uses) at least one of their miraculous products, it’s safe to say that they are hit. I’m still waiting for them to launch in India! Come on, Glow Recipe, make your way already!

If you’re a true beauty junkie who doesn’t mind spending big bucks on skincare, then there’s a 100% chance that you’ve used at least one product by Tatcha. Tatcha Water Cream and Silk Cream are one of the best creams that money can buy and, boy, they do not disappoint!

Another skincare product that has left the internet wanting for more is the Tatcha Lip Mask. People just cannot get over how creamy its texture is. It has also become one of the most famous products to be featured under the #TextureTuesdays hashtag.

In the makeup world too, everyone loves Tatcha! Tatcha’s Silk Canvas (the infamous putty primer) is one of the best primers you can get and worth every penny!

Do you follow Skincare By Hyram? If not, follow him this instant and come back! Hyram is the biggest skincare junkie I have ever seen! The guy knows EVERYTHING there is to know about the magical world of skincare. From what products to use to busting myths to the importance of particular ingredients in skincare products–the guy is a freaking legend!

Thanks to TikTok, a lot of people (sadly, not us) can visit his account for quick updates on what skincare products are amazing for your skin type. One brand that he is a big fan of and often recommends is CeraVe, especially their cleansers. CeraVe cleansers are not new but are now rightfully claiming their thrown of being one of the best cleansers out there. People are sharing their skin stories after using the product just for a week and we’re shooketh by the results!

Hi So, which of these brands are you going to try first? Or have already tried? Do you think they live up to their hype? Do let us know!
